Good deals. :D 59 won't be used on a live pick I wouldn't have thought so its a good deal for us.

North had better not screw us on the Delaney deal.

Why couldn't we have had that deal done first and the FA done second????

Now we have to hope they honour the spirit of the deal.....and we're talking about dealing with a Kray brother here

Nee!

Just for the record, here is the 1st 25 of the current Draft order list from the afl:
http://www.afl.com.au/news/2013-10-18/draft-order

1. GWS
2. GWS (received from Melbourne as part of trade for Dom Tyson)
3. St Kilda
4. Western Bulldogs
5. Gold Coast
6. West Coast
7. Brisbane Lions
8. North Melbourne
9. Melbourne (received from GWS as part of trade involving Dom Tyson)
10. Collingwood
11. Collingwood (free agency compensation pick received for Dale Thomas)
12. Richmond
13. Carlton
14. Port Adelaide
15. Sydney Swans
16. Geelong
17. Fremantle
18. St Kilda (received from Hawthorn as part of trade for Ben McEvoy)

The fact that it didn't eventuate immediately Dal went to North indicates that no such deal is in place.
The only deal was probably North saying "go on let us have Dal we will be nice. Promise."
It should of been ok we'll list dal as a free agent but we want Delaney at pick 70 odd after he's be listed.
Otherwise we'll match any offer you'd like, we have the salary space and Dal gets another 3 year deal.

Brayshaws been in his ear for sure, just a matter of for how long.

If we are planning to swap 25 for Longer, would giving the Hawks 24 allow them to underbid us?

Never say never but they have publicly said they are no longer in the market for him. I suspect pick 24 or 25 won't get the deal done in any case. I see us using 18 or 19 or a variety of picks (18 & 25 for Longer & 29).

Longer is a special talent, very similar in style to Dean Cox. I'd have him in the 10-15 range so no dramas giving up pick 18 and an upgrade. Either way we are in for a bargain and the Lions are getting reamed with this potential trade and others.

I don't buy into that we must keep all our top 25 picks for the draft when a player such as Longer is available who only turned 20 this year and is not far off this years draftees age.

I want Longer too but I would thought giving up 18 would be poor work given what will undoubtedly be available in midfield talent.

I've never seen a bad St.Kilda player - that's just how they are.

Please note BigMart vs Plugger66, True Believer, JoffaBoy et al has been moved to Animal Enclosure for further mindless and pointless bickering. Please stay on topic here.

The bickering wasn't mndless.

It was factual from my part, but understand the move.

Lance or James??

There comes a point in every man's life when he has to say, "Enough is enough." For me, that time is now. I have been dealing with claims that I cheated and had an unfair advantage in <redacted>.
