Re: David Myers
Don't know much about him, but others rate him.
I think we should be after one inside mid, I'd prefer Adams, but he is off to the Filth, I'd prefer Mitchie, but he is off to Melbourne (!), so the other option imo is Myers.
I really can't see Bombers giving him up without something ridiculous considering he is contracted, I hope we don't overpay if we somehow get him but I can't see it ending pretty.

I don't see him as a good swap for Dal and they don't have any early picksCon Gorozidis wrote:How do people feel about this guy?
I think we are still possibly chasing him.

That trade is not equitable for both parties.longtimesaint wrote:I don't see him as a good swap for Dal and they don't have any early picksCon Gorozidis wrote:How do people feel about this guy?

We need more than just Myers considering career and output this season.
Dal Santo becomes one of the Bombers top 5 players straight away so we need fair recompense for that.

Re: David Myers
David Meh. He's a big mid fielder so would be a poor mans Josh Kennedy. He looks like he was starting to come good but hasn't got to show much at senior level. Could be anything.
Re: David Myers
The only thing I can see is if the Bulldogs give Essendon their pick #22 for Crameri, and in return we'd want Myers & #22, and we'd give Dal & #37 or maybe #55
Essendon's first pick is #44
Having said that, I don't rate Myers at all, over rated. Rather keep Dal.

Re: David Myers
You can compare the two here.
You can also compare DM now to NDS at the same age
http://www.footywire.com/afl/footy/ft_p ... 1=S&fid2=S
DM is a good player - but not as good as NDS.
So maybe they might look at Myers + 24 for NDS + 38.
That might work if the EFC decide to accept 24 for Crameri.

Re: David Myers
Essendon don't give up decent picks. Ever.
They want everything and give nothing.
If Dal goes to Essendon it will be via free agency.
Screw Myers, he'll probably miss 2 years of footy. Screw Essendon, would rather see dal at north.

+1. Sack the Pelican if we recruit a player who then gets an infraction notice.dragit wrote:Essendon don't give up decent picks. Ever.

Once again, members of Essendon's 2012 team not at risk for future ASADA issues, in alphabetical order:
1. D. Zaharakis.
1. D. Zaharakis.
Always loyal
Re: David Myers
Dal is 30 next year, a 24 year old Myers is a pretty good straight swap. I rate Myers and think he would bring something different to our midfield. Much better than pick 26 plus Delaney

Zaharakis didn't get needles... but AOD and other banned substances can come in the form of cream.

Re: David Myers
Wouldn't touch him. No better than Delaney, so why not get Delaney for next to nothing?
Rule number one. NEVER trade with Essendon. NEVER! They would sell you a pile of horse crap and tell you that it's gold.

Re: David Myers
Myers was taken the draft after David Armitage. He wins less contested ball than David Armitage.
Idiots want us to trade out Armitage, while others want us to trade in Myers.
Add the possibility of ASADA bans and the answer is NO.

Re: David Myers
Essendon have been crying out for midfielders, desperately took Goddard on extraordinary money... Now want dal.
Why can't David Myers, 24 years old, pick # 6 get a game in the midfield?
Cause he's a spud.
NFW.

He aint a spud.
Hes not a star but hes not a spud.
Played 20 games. Averages 18 disposals.
Has 5 inside 50s and over 3 tackles.
Not a spud.

Honestly, if this 'big bodied' midfielder, taken at pick #6, just entering his prime was any good, there is just no way in the world Essendon would contemplate trading him out.
Did I mention - no f****** way?

Re: David Myers
Farren Ray didn't set the world on fire in his early years, but his numbers are still better than Myers.

Re: David Myers
Apparently he wants mid field time. despite what people say Essendon bats pretty deep through the mid field. The infraction thing is the big worry, I think he could be a handy post Lenny addition. Jobe watson and Zaharakis have a little bit of a monopoly at the Dons in tall mis roles and Goddard was offered a go too.

Re: David Myers
From what ive seen, which isnt much admittedly, he's a decent not much to write home about mid. No a game breaker or star.
The over riding factor is will he come under investigation and get a possible ban. Not to mention Essendon are mongrels to trade with, just ask the Bulldogs.
Overall id say pass

Re: David Myers
Listened to his manager Colin Young talk last night seeking long term arrangement ..
He is magnificent Kick , left footer , Outside midfielder.
Agree with not dealing with Essendon myself would like him when uncontracted end of next year.

Re: David Myers
Couldnt give a rats about him being an Essendon player, more worried about his ability. Seems another Gop. we have plenty of them. No not this year but maybe in 4 or 5 years time.
