The bloke attempted to make a name for himself tackling and couldn't even get that right.
At least he will teach the Tigers players to guard space and look useful via running around.

I don't think his tackling have anything to do with whether or not he will do well in this role. The Redeemer wrote:That is laughable.FQF wrote:Congratulations to Andrew McQualter, just announced on Trade Radio that he has been appointed as the Development Coach at Richmond.

Because the best players like Voss, Hird and Buckley are always better coaches then no-name spuds like Clarkson and Lyon.

Mini was Vic country under 16 and under 18's captain as a juniour he also after being delisted held a mentor/leadership role with the gold coast suns ... so its fair to say what Mini lacked as a player he made up for as a leader .... good luck to the bloke without doubt he would have had to work his butt off to prove himself worthy of consideration as a development coach given he would be unlikely to rely on his name in footy circles to get noticed ...

Haven't forgiven him for the horrible missed tackle in the last minute of the 2010 GF.
Appalling error.

Re: Congratulations to McQualter
I enjoyed his contributions to the Saints teams that made the grand finals just a few years ago now.
McQ often had me cheering on his efforts.
Good luck to him.
GO SAINTS!

The boy can play and we can build a defence around him that will have respect.
Re: Congratulations to McQualter
Despite his lowly role at the Saints he was a member of the leadership group.

So what year was that?spert wrote:Was a good attacking player getting better until Lyon turned him into a defensive plodder and stuffed his career.
200never?
He was always a defensive plodder with apparent leadership skills.
Like Raph's schoolboy bulls*** in 09, his shithouse attempted tackle in 10 cannot be forgotten

I agree. I hope he fails as a coach because of that tackle. It makes sense.

Re: Congratulations to McQualter
his leadership skills and football brain have never been questioned
it's one of the reasons RL persevered with him so much post 2009 when he was horribly out of form for 2 odd years.
his 2009 was very good though

Whilst on past players of that era
Port melbourne have apparently lost heaps of players and Board memebrs.Paul Amy@PaulAmy375
Ex-St Kilda player Robert Eddy is the latest signing for Port Melbourne. Will be handy. The Borough are working hard to cover their losses
