What game were you watching? He took so many one grab defensive marks from Freo kicks. Calm and composed all day. Didn't miss a beat. Was best afield I reckon.oldie60 wrote:Brian Lake Norm Smith Medallist, got to be joking. Most overated full back going around.Did some handy things but not worthy of a Norm Smith Medal.

Ballantyne was shite as well. He was selfish in second quarter when player was on their own. perhaps he was looking over his shoulder but geez he made some mistakeswhiskers3614 wrote:Swap Dawson for Lake and Freo wins easily.

Lake and Suban will both be rubbed out by MRP for a game or two next year but Lake won't mind.

Mccartney must have a pretty big hard on gor hodge, don't remember anything special. solid game, not NS quality.
This was my father's belief
And this is also mine:

And the grapes be all one vine,
Ere our children's teeth are set on edge

Yeah agree with you. Solid but not the second best player on the ground.roskilde wrote:Mccartney must have a pretty big hard on gor hodge, don't remember anything special. solid game, not NS quality.

Re: Grand final thread
Ballantyne is rubbish! If they're serious about winning a flag next year, they would trade him.

Re: Grand final thread
Watching ballantyne gave me sympathy for our little devil (milney) today.
I think it shows that no matter how young, hungry or brilliant you are life as a small forward is a game of scraps.
Milen and ballantyne are not players who go missing in finals (as im sure the media will label ballantyne now) they are small forwards.
Players who are so far down the food chain. Their goals should be seen as manna from heaven. Today actually reminds me how lucky we are to have a once in a generation player like Milne.
