Can't kick well? Who cares.

Get him in the guts, should of already been in the guts with Lenny injured.

Big enough body, wouldn't be easily rag-dolled.
We cannot continue to build lists littered with poor foot skills. It cost us 2 premierships. How bad is he by foot?
You can't have a team full of players with good skills but soft as butter like Dal Santo. Got to have a good mixture of both.

Dal isnt and has never been as soft as butter. he is an inside and outside player. Just look at his stats. Contested possessions not far behind our best inside player in 30 years, Lenny hayes. Curren must play this week or he never plays.

Of coarse Dals contested possessions and going to be second to Lenny's because he's played so many games!

How often do you see Dal going back with the flight of the ball or going in hard and doing courageous things? He's a sheepdog!

Im talking average not total. he aint no sheep dog. Not sure any AFL footballer is. he is an inside/ outside player and a very good one at that. Im not sure i see Lenny backing back with the flight of the ball as like Dal he is a mid and it doesnt happen often at all.

No way Dal Santo is soft, not any match I've ever seen him play. What games do you watch? Just had 10 contested poss v Rich (most for Saints) And almost always gets the heavy tag.

Kicking still seems pretty loose, but at least its long, maybe just not composing himself enough before kicking?

He takes the game on though, were so short in solid mids he's definitely worth a game or two.

I watched these earlier and was going to put them up. Ledger and Curren's highlights seem to feature a lot of kicks turning over to the opposition. I don't know if it's the editing team just grab the first 10 pieces of footage or it's indicative but Saunders is one I rate because of his ball winning and disposal. Curren is very like CJ in that he gets it like a trojan but the kicking lets down his game. He has to be played as an in and under mid to mitigate this I believe or he won't make it. Still worth elevating and giving him 6 games to prove himself otherwise let him go somewhere that he can get a game.

Saunders is quicker than he looks and Hickey looks a gun at VFL level. Lee's highlights looked better despite not too many of them - he seems to have a bit of swagger back in his game. He played like a big Stephen Milne when I watched the games in the foxtel cup or what ever it was called.

You know some you get right, others you get wrong. One of our midfielders left the training track last Thursday very early in the session holding his hammy. He didn't re appear. I just put 2 and 2 together and got it wrong. I would never broadcast the players name as that would be breaking an "understanding" I have. As for Tommy Curren coaches will often instruct players in to what they expect to see of them during the game. Our friend Spencer was asked to be aggressive during the Frankston game and duly performed. Tick in the right box. So they were my views on Curren. Up to you whether you feel they are educated views or not. But I have two very rock solid views.
Scott is the right bloke.
No. 10 will be very, very good.

Is that Markworth? I think Scott is on the right track too. Can you find out if Roberton and Dempster will play both hurt themselves against the Tigers. We are in a fair bit of trouble otherwise.

No he couldn't.. Nathan Bourke was Nathan Bourke at 18, from his first game to his last... He wasn't just a nuggety, solid in-and-under type... He was a legitimate champion and was destined for it from his first season.. You could see it right away, much like Harv's...

Andrew Thompson is a more likely comparison, but with such an emphasis on disposal in today's game, not sure Thompson, and Curren as it stands, would've lasted as long..
I'd like to bump this in 12 months time
