Re: Are umpires corrupt?
Last week before the game I said there's no way the AFL are going to let Port win.. If you have executives profiting from crowd revenue this question will always be asked..

Because all I have seen is a couple both ways.
Maybe you need to relax

Exactly. Gringo, you and Curly are out of the same stable. Have watched the whole game and they've missed a few bbut have generally been pretty good. No howlers.

Yeah, but Rioli did play on. Maybe he didn't hear the whistle or call. But he handballed so it's play on.Devilhead wrote:But the umpire called advantage??kosifantutti wrote:Cyril took a mark and played on.gringo wrote:The free kick to Cyril that went advantage to Geelong. Would have been a cruel injustice if Hawks had lost by less than a goal after that out on the full at the end of the third wasn't called and Cats got a goal out of it.

Re: Are umpires corrupt?
Nobody will agree with me but I reckon they got the goal review wrong in the first quarter. The one that was called a point but was overruled because it was touched over the line. There just wasn't enough clear evidence to over rule.st.byron wrote:Would have been a cruel injustice if Hawks had lost by less than a goal after that out on the full at the end of the third wasn't called and Cats got a goal out of it.

not too shattered with the result.
I would have followed the hawks if i hand't stuck with the saints and when you think of it we were very similar clubs until the 71 GF.

Re: Are umpires corrupt?
If Rioli played on then it should have been 50 metres as the guy came in from behind to tackle and should have been 5 metres away after the mark. Milney always gets 50 against for the same thing.st.byron wrote: Yeah, but Rioli did play on. Maybe he didn't hear the whistle or call. But he handballed so it's play on.

Re: Are umpires corrupt?
Didn't see that. Can't comment. Looked to me like Cyril thought he'd taken a mark and everyone stopped for a split second. Then he thought he hadn't been paid so played on, not realising he could go back and have a shot.Jacks Back wrote:If Rioli played on then it should have been 50 metres as the guy came in from behind to tackle and should have been 5 metres away after the mark. Reckon it was a clear goal myself. You could see the whole ball behind the posts before Lake got a hand on it.kosifantutti wrote: Nobody will agree with me but I reckon they got the goal review wrong in the first quarter. Re: Are umpires corrupt?
And that is exactly what the cameras in the posts are for. I couldn't believe it when they were checking every angle except the goal line to start with.st.byron wrote:Reckon it was a clear goal myself. Re: Are umpires corrupt?
You could see the ball probably over the line with Lake's hand on it but the goal post camera is so poor the previous frame shows the ball half a metre short. Unless you can see the ball clearly over the line without a hand on it, I don't think there's enough evidence to overrule.st.byron wrote:Reckon it was a clear goal myself.
