Oh dear poor CJ has made the list.
North and Collingwood feature well, and yet their "culture" is not in question
Make of it of you want. Particularly love the saints emblem next to Lovett.

Im not sure they couldnt put it there. Yes he didnt play a game for us but he was on our list and even out with our players on the night it all happened.
Re: AFL Bad Boys
Well, the graphic isn't exactly accurate on that front. Jones has a Hawks flag next to his name - for no apparent reason - but Bock is missing a Crows flag, Scotland a Collingwood flag, Andy Krakouer a Richmond flag, Carey a Crows flag, Caddy a Suns flag, Ablett Sr a Hawks flag, Renouf a Hawks flag. And Cresswell could have Swans, Cats and Lions flags. No particular bias but it's a pretty shoddy piece of work.plugger66 wrote:Im not sure they couldnt put it there. THere has been nothing but the talk of COllingwood's culture over the last 3 days
Re: AFL Bad Boys
Only one of the two incidents they described. So it would have been perfectly valid to put the Essendon symbol next to him. It also would have been correct to describe him as a 88 game Essendon player.plugger66 wrote:mullet wrote:http://www.heraldsun.com.au/sport/afl/w ... 6656206504

Including Jones with that lot is typical goldfish mentality. "Oohh who is bad let me think, I struggle with memory of more than a week so I'll go with Jones".
Once again we avoid mention of Collingwood players coercing a young woman into group sex , prompting her to complain to police about her treatment. Ooooh but CJ lit a dwarf.

He didn't represent the club at all.
Didn't even finish a pre-season, let alone don the guernsey.

Re: AFL Bad Boys
This clearly puts into perspective two things:
1) How much of an overreaction there was to the dwarf burning incident.
2) How much of a beat up the 'St Kilda has a terrible culture' thing is.

Re: AFL Bad Boys
Steve Lawrence pranged his car when pissed - got the sack.
Capuano doing silly things when pissed - got the sack.
Andrew Lovett being Andrew Lovett - got the sack.
Dare I say, we have the hardest line approach to this stuff than any other club in the AFL.

The Smedts and Caddy thing could have had the pair shot and could have endangered lives but was made less of a story because it didn't have the Jerry Springer style bizarreness.

Because they were winning.
If you're losing, and do the exact same thing - you get caned and it's suddenly a big problem.

Re: AFL Bad Boys
But winning wouldn't have mattered had the incorrect house they were attempting to break into been the home of a Dwarf.Johnny Member wrote:gringo wrote:The Smedts and Caddy thing could have had the pair shot and could have endangered lives but was made less of a story because it didn't have the Jerry Springer style bizarreness.

Re: AFL Bad Boys
No doubt they thought about including David Armitage and Sam Gilbert, but when they tried to quantify what was "bad" about them they found..........

Re: AFL Bad Boys
The problem with saying St Kilda player Andrew Lovett in this context is that the incident where he was charged with rape was while he was a St Kilda listed player.
However, he was completely exonerated of that in a court of law therefore to use it as evidence that he was a bad egg is deliberately dishonest and borderline slanderous.

Re: AFL Bad Boys
We sacked him before he'd played a game for us, so presumably we thought he was a bad boy.SinCitySainter wrote:The problem with saying St Kilda player Andrew Lovett in this context is that the incident where he was charged with rape was while he was a St Kilda listed player.
