Saints to have co-No 1 ticket holders, then co-presidents
This is strictly in confidence for Sainsationalists only, so please don't leak details to the wider world, let alone the plebs on Big Footy.
Many on here have been critical of the low profile of our outgoing El Pres, right? Well, with the federal election over, it can now be announced that our Greg has spent much of the past six years working very quietly behinds the scenes putting together one of the biggest coups in footy club administration history.
We started with the co-captaincy thing.
Our next ground breaking move will be co-number 1 tickets holders, but, with the view to these people becoming our future co-presidents.
This wont be announced straight away... a couple of spot fires to mop up first... but once this is released, people will see a very very clever piece of marketing to leverage off our recent hot little issue, and actually turn that all right around 180 degrees celsius, and shine a whole new warm light over our club.
The media release package has been completed. (See a screen shot below, secretly filmed at Sorrento back beach - and yes, second from the left, that is our new boom recruit Tom Boyd, but please Saintsationalists, keep that news under wraps also. ).
Just a little more patience is required from all of us, but rest assured that what has been smouldering will very shortly be arced right up, with the club moving to really apply the blow torch to the competition.
Personally, I've never liked the co-anything idea in footy club leadership, and I have some reservations this latest one, but regardless, and looking objectively at the bigger picture for our club, I have to say kudos to the bright spark (El Pres Greg) who lit this flame. And if nothing else, there will be some real fireworks ahead.

So Tony Abbott and Malcolm Turnbull will be our number one ticket holders and we have already secured Tom Boyd.
Am I missing something?

luckily they don't even know what shape an AFL ball is. We should sue them for bringing our colours into disrepute. i would be a double- disillusioned member.

So the new President elect would immediately install policies to take us back to the 50's?

The young Abbott daughters will run out on the ground with water bottles for the boys.

It's like comparing a cat s*** with a dog turd though and I'm a labour man. Hopefully they will lance that moron quickly before any of his policies get bought in. I think they are waiting until he tries to implement a double dissolution then they will slip in Turnbull who will keep the carbon pricing and say the NBN is to far advanced to pull out of.

Don't forget we won our one and only premiership a few years after the 50's.Animal Enclosure wrote:So the new President elect would immediately install policies to take us back to the 50's?
As ex-president Peter Summers said:

Hi Dragstar, I've actually been trying to stop this co-president thing.dragit wrote:Where have you been for the last 6 months Dave?
I'm still holding out some hopes too... as we all know Malcolm is keeping the flame burning, in fact he's a real torch-bearer for the cause, but any talk of Presidency still gets Tony pretty hot under the shirt collar.

Yeah he'll be great for you multi millionaires and will be really good at squeezing every dollar out of small business, workers and pensioners. He'll be very good at his job, even for the boat industry in Indonesia . Unfortunately for me I own a small business.saintspremiers wrote:Agree.FQF wrote:ausfatcat wrote:If Abbott was even a saints member I would never renew my membership again

Hi Playon, I found that a really interesting and unexpected viewpoint coming from a small business person re a Liberal government.Playon wrote:Yeah he'll be great for you multi millionaires and will be really good at squeezing every dollar out of small business, workers and pensioners. What are they doing/not doing/planning to do that makes you feel that way? Do you know many other small business owners who feel similarly?
(I'm asking purely out of surprised interest, and purely in terms of economic policy - ie; in your answer feel free to also have a go at the ALP or Greens' economic policies from a small business POV if you see fit.)
