Re: AA squad of 40
Unbeleivable effort from both players but for jack to be in the top 40 players this season just proves how much he has improved. I think it proves that we can look at players and find fault but we should be looking for the good in players instead. He is very fast, gets the ball a hell of a lot both inside and out and is a very good kick despite what people think. his kicking has always been good, it was his decision making and now that is mostly very good as well.
Neither will make the final 22 but they should be both proud of their efforts.

There are many worse players to play for StK
Many better
Point?
He's had a good year.... Not sure too many have believed otherwise...
He'll be better if he cleans up his ball use... Anyone denying that?!

50 goals with a higher possession rate coupled with higher marking rates than most if not all comparisons.
Why wouldnt he be?

Mackie!
Why is he even in the squad, let alone your final team? He's an ok player at best. Not a great decision maker, and not very tough.

Expect another illogical rant from "I won't bother to check out the facts" Wilson - Australia's leading authority on footy.

Where in my post did I mention you or anything you have posted?
You are not the only poster to make ridiculous statements on here.

Why is Watson in it?
Why haven't you guys picked Roo in your teams? He will at least be on the bench in the proper team.
Rory Thompson from the Suns very unlucky. Had a great year

Re: AA squad of 40
I'm trying to work this out…Mr Magic wrote:Gee you seemingly suffer a very strong 'victim complex'.
I think it's a rare form of persecution complex or martyr complex…
Whereby a person can read the reply of a single poster and in their mind, paste it into the views of every poster on the forum…
BigMartyr Complex
A person who has a bigmartyr complex, sometimes associated with the term victim complex, desires the feeling of being a martyr for his/her own sake, seeking out suffering or persecution because it feeds a psychological need.
In some cases, this results from the belief that the martyr has been singled out for persecution because of exceptional ability or integrity.
Re: AA squad of 40
Dunno. There's going to be two or three of: Cameron, Cloke, Franklin, Kennedy, Riewoldt, RougheadThe Redeemer wrote:I disagree and Roo is a shoe-in for CHF
50 goals with a higher possession rate coupled with higher marking rates than most if not all comparisons.
Why wouldnt he be?
Goals: Roughead 68, Cloke 66, Cameron 62, Kennedy 60, Franklin 58, Riewoldt 50 (8th)
Goal Assists: Roughead 18, Kennedy 17, Riewoldt 14 (54th), Cameron 11, Franklin 11, Cloke 7
Marks Inside 50: Cloke 97, Riewoldt 72 (2nd), Roughead 66, Kennedy 62, Cameron 47, Franklin 46
Contested Marks: Cloke 55, Riewoldt 37 (5th), Kennedy 34, Franklin 26, Roughead 26, Cameron 20
Marks per game: Riewoldt 9.6 (1st), Cloke 8.7, Kennedy 6.8, Cameron 5.0, Roughead 4.6, Franklin 4.0
Disposals per game: Riewoldt 18.6, Roughead 16.3, Franklin 15.5, Cloke 14.9, Kennedy 13.0, Cameron 10.7
Roughead's surely in, he won the Coleman and had a bunch of assists. You're right that Riewoldt had a lot of marks and possessions, but Cloke had a lot of contested marks and marks inside 50, so that's the argument in favour of him - and he had more shots and kicked more goals.
If I had to guess, I'd predict Roughead and Cloke to take the two tall forward spots. Cloke plays for Collingwood so that's a point in his favour. Also wouldn't be surprised if Cameron got a spot in a forward pocket for marketing reasons, even though he trailed off in the last few rounds.
Riewoldt's stats are great but I think the broader perception of him won't quite get him over the line this year.
