Next Weekend versus GC Suns
I guess even though we're at home, we'll still go in as underdogs.
If we're any chance to win this one, the question is how do we go about stopping the son of the murderer?
Considering we'll most likely have no hope against RL's Dockers in the final round, I guess it will be our final chance to notch up a 4th win in this godforsaken year. Would nice to have at least one last hurrah.

Re: Next Weekend versus GC Suns
I think our last two rounds have the potential to be our strongest sides for the season.
Schneider, Blake and Gilbert just give some much needed experience.
If Ben is injured like most make out, just bring Shenton in for him.

we should go all out to beat the purple trash. The thought of them finishing in the top two and Lyin winning a flag with the p....s makes me puke. Get stuck into the b......s.
Re: Next Weekend versus GC Suns
I wonder how Gilbert will pull up. He played well , but one game back after so much time off, he may be feeling it.
Re: Next Weekend versus GC Suns
Maybe keep Milney in because I think it will be his final two games for his career and deserves to get two more in front of a home crowd.

Agree. I just hope common sense prevails and he is delisted. His form doesn't warrant another season but more importantly the legal case is the biggie (but can't be used as the official reason of course!).Bluthy wrote:Maybe keep Milney in because I think it will be his final two games for his career and deserves to get two more in front of a home crowd.

Excellent point.Kickit wrote:I wonder how Gilbert will pull up. He played well , but one game back after so much time off, he may be feeling it.
I really had concerns with him coming straight back into the One's without an ressies games.
If he doesn't come up due to genuine soreness and not a real new injury, we'd have to question what is going on with our fitness management area.

I don't know if there's an issue with it from a fitness management point of view.saintspremiers wrote:Excellent point.Kickit wrote:I wonder how Gilbert will pull up. He played well , but one game back after so much time off, he may be feeling it.

I think its a known thing, that a good player after a long layoff can often come straight back and play a blinder but then pull up bloody sore the following week. Whether you get match fit in the VFL or AFL doesn't really matter ( at this point in the season ). It was more of an issue when they selected Baker to play the GF replay.

Re: Next Weekend versus GC Suns
Pretty confident they will beat GC here.
They would have beaten West Coast even with umpiring if Montagna had " Joe the Goose " and Dal had not given 50 against Port Adelaide but not worried at all.
If we get either 2 of these : Sharenburg Dumont Lennon Billings Bontempelli Dunstan Sheed Battersby Aish Kelly Freeman Gartlett Boyd which we will.
Bombers & Crows will ensure we get several low picks.

Re: Next Weekend versus GC Suns
We won't beat Freo in the last game as they will be playing for a home final. Upside to losing the last game is that the team aren't deluded at were they are at.
We need to break the ice and a win this week would be good for morale.

Re: Next Weekend versus GC Suns
Let's not forget Kosi needs his 200th, which I think he should get.
I'd play him against Freo, nothing to lose, plus he can be given complete freedom to do as he wants without and reprocussions that will mean anything from the MRC.
Hmmm, just wonder how many weeks for accidently bowling over RL would be worth?

Re: Next Weekend versus GC Suns
Kosi could be just the man for that. He'll appear before the MRC, but it'll be an outing for a cup of coffee for him with a care factor zero. A bit like Wow Jones appearing before the tribuneral at the end of the '88 season.3rd generation saint wrote:Hmmm, just wonder how many weeks for accidently bowling over RL would be worth?

Well, they get away with referring to Milne by the "R" word, why can't the boot be on the other foot?Greg T wrote:Hey mate ,I didn't realise Gary senior was charged with murder!!Sainternist wrote:I guess even though we're at home, we'll still go in as underdogs.

Anyway, it can be looked at being a double entendre, considering he used to murder us on the field. Not mention murdering Nathan Burke's chances to play footy without the aid of a helmet. And let's not forget him murdering Kristian Bardley's jaw.

Re: Next Weekend versus GC Suns
I only have two wishes for the season.
1. The big Kos gets his 200th
2. Shenton gets 2 games so we can see what he can do
A win this week would be nice.

"Another storied win in Robert Harvey's career. They say he is the embodiment of their motto of strength through loyalty, and on the day he became just the tenth man to play 350 league games the saints reward him with a seemingly impossible victory."
Re: Next Weekend versus GC Suns
Really want to see Tom curren get the job of running with Ablett this week.
He did a great job on hannerbery last week and would be another good experience for him to be playing on the leagues best midfielder.
