He doesnt seem as fit as some and may have attitude problems. Not sure he can play either. gets the ball a lot but doesnt make good decisions so thats a huge issue. There is no possible reason to keep him next year if he doesnt play this year. It would be another wasted player like I see maybe Milera and Maister being next year.

The good thing about Minchington is that, unlike Saad and Milera, he looks like a small that could run through the midfield regularly.

Ever since our "new recruit" MarkMcGough was sold as a "ball magnet", the term has lost a bit of lustre for me :(
Yeah, then the mantle was passed to Kim Duthie...

Quite frankly, I'd like to know the truth! On evidence, it's head scratcher..
They're on display every time he goes around for Sandy. He's well below average defensively. He doesn't go in to tackle when he should - unless he's second or third man in. He doesn't shepherd for his team mates. He doesn't even screen off well on the mark.
He's improved his tackling technique a little but that's all. For mine he's failed to meet his key indicators defensively in every game he's played. He was worse when he had v poor aerobic fitness as opposed to barely average. He's still to be seen many times in any game having stopped on the wing miles behind the play.
His one ability is to get low at the bounce and grab it, from there on it's downhill as he rushes it onto the boot and sprays it all over the place or gets caught.

He's also outperformed the majority of fringe players that have overtaken him, all of which have a combination of those weaknesses too. Personally gotta agree with BM on this one

He hasn't. Getting the ball and butchering it isn't outperforming anyone. Butchering it more times a game than anyone else is just a variant on 30 x 0.
Minchington was selected becuase he uses it well, he's hard, defensively he tries to keep the ball in the forward line and he plays for the side.
If someone else has to come up before season's end I's rather it was Shenton who at least has improved.

Can the butchering the ball argument be used (extended to) in the seniors also....

In saying that, his disposal efficiency is pretty good for a mid at VFL level.... More congestion, less outside run, poorer conditions,... He is dual sided, often uses a short, and kicks well at goal.... His technique is good... Decision making panicky sometimes?

Defensively, he tackles as much as the next mid.... Except Cockie, but that would be like comparing Steven to Armitage? Steven has a poor defensive game, but it's a trade off with all winning, Armitage has big defensive numbers, but less footy in hand.....
