How do you keep our membership up?
With the prospect of lean times ahead, what can the club do to stop people dropping off as members and at the same time increase our membership base.
Based on our attendances over many years, I actually believe we should easily be able to create 40,000+ members.
I can remember during the worse of the 80's, we'd play North at the MCG or Waverley, and we would have more supporters there than they did.
Any big, sensible and intelligent ideas out there in Saintsational Land?

Re: How do you keep our membership up?
Do the clubs report how much revenue they generate annually for memberships sold? It would be an an interesting comparison to see that figure per club versus the membership numbers.

The thrust seems to be "bite the Members for money," but don't worry about delivering "value."

Im unsure why a member should get value apart from getting free entry to the ground. We get all that crappy stuff that some like and some couldnt give a stuff about but what other value do you want? It really is a sort of donation anyway because I doubt most members go to all the home games.

I am also a member of the Social Club - not much value there. Nor does the Club listen/act upon reasonable suggestions for improvement, that is put to it.
Re: How do you keep our membership up?
Nah, I tried to look at that a couple of years ago but almost all of the club Annual Reports don't break out membership revenue from general revenue.Cairnsman wrote:Do the clubs report how much revenue they generate annually for memberships sold? Re: How do you keep our membership up?
I've always thought that the best family days the club ever held were those we had at Luna Park.
Would also like to see the Social Club restored at Moorabbin, it was great to go down there for a meal and watch an interstate game on the big screen with fellow members.
Made it feel more like you were at the game instead of just watching it on TV.
One thing they could do is give away a few free trips to the NZ games to members drawn simply randomly like a raffle. You buy a membership you are automatically entered.
Especially if you got to travel with the team.

I was going to post a reply but then realised I had missed the vital letters "ship" in the original post.
I was further confused by one poster's reference to the main thrust.
But I was glad to se P66 was maintaining a degree of optomission.........

Well there goes the point of having social club members. i think they would actually lose money if they gave all that.

One idea I have is to cancel Big Brother and that stupid Slide Show. That ranks as the worst shows ever made. Also i would widen the West Gate bridge.

Re: How do you keep our membership up?
a side note on what other teams are doing..
colleague at work is a Pies supporter- nice one which is rare-
past member but no where near recent
the CLub has been ringing him all of last week and it goes to hold by the time he gets to the phone.
I suggested to him they wanted him to joing up - Eddie has stated they only need 1,400 to get to 80,000 so were chasing lapsed members- even from many years past.
checked with him today if he finally connected with them
Yes; offered him a reserved seat to this weekends game..............'nice' he replied- 'so when you pay for a 3 game membership I can post to you' - said the person on the other end of the phone...

Re: How do you keep our membership up?
Oh yeah lose money
The meals are new sponsors need to create new members increase supporter base.
Eg Hawthorn for Tasmanian members 4 games give the free "2 games at MCG"
If you sell more beers you get revenue stream from new deal they signed with stadium
Better idea might be do nothing .? Save a lot of money from where .?
These are just ideas .
