Re: Shenton
Hes got some speed and a big frame.
Maybe if he got a bigger engine he could play midfield?
Certainly deserves a go on his hair alone!

He deserves a game for wearing a Abe Lincoln neck beard too. There just isn't enough neck beard action these days- they all have Ned Kelly Hipster beards. Hickey is okay, at least he's based his facial hair on Blakey from on the buses, well that or Hitler Im not sure which.

Re: Shenton
I see more in Shenton than I do in Ledger.
Shenton has proved to be balanced and nifty from the very few games I've seen him in.
Seems to link and pounce really well when the team is playing a good brand.....

Two in a row.borderbarry wrote:And how many games has he done that for again?
But they were playing him as a fwd and a back .
Maybe he has found his niche ? Big framed midfielder ?
Get a tank on him over summer and course be the surprise packet we so need.
Nothing to lose giving him a shot when were 3rd bottom. Shenton is ahead of Siposs by a fair way at this stage anyways.

I actually think he is the one rookie I would have put up into the seniors because he is mature and a very adaptable utility type. He won't be on the list next year if he can't break in this year. He has something about him the Shentonator.

Re: Shenton
i think there is a cost involved by upgrading him i think it adds to out TPP so unless we are going to play him it would be just a waste of money upgrading him

Re: Shenton
On the strength of his last four games for Sandy I'd have to now say Shent deserves to be elevated and given a few games. If that doesn't happen, I can't see him being around next year.

Has the physique and speed for modern day footy.evo wrote:Another 30 posession game for Sandy. Voted BOG, a better prospect than Curren or Ledger I reckon and can play midfield as well.
Worth a try. Seems like the penny has dropped for him and hes got some confidence now.

Re: Shenton
Its not that the penny has dropped, its the fact they have finally started playing him back down in defence, where he dominated last few games last year. He's 1000 times the footballer playing there than playing up forward.Con Gorozidis wrote:Has the physique and speed for modern day footy.evo wrote:Another 30 posession game for Sandy. His repeated efforts have improved out of sight. It feels like he's giving it everything in the last few weeks.
I've gone on the record in saying that I don't believe he's AFL standard & I'm not sure we need yet another half back (which is why I believe they've been trying to get him to come good as a forward) but yes - there is nothing to lose. I would be more than happy to be proven wrong (as always).
Although if we had to elevate a rookie, I'd pick Minchington every time first. Minch has more time on his side though & if they want to make a definitive decision on The Panther, then yeah - why not give him a go?

Yep. I just meant penny dropped for him and the coaches in general terms - i.e things are in place and hes more confident and comfortable in what kind of player he is.stkildathunda wrote:Its not that the penny has dropped, its the fact they have finally started playing him back down in defence, where he dominated last few games last year. I wasnt meaning it to say he has pulled his finger out - because I think he has had a great attitude all along - it was just finding where he fitted in as a player.
