What I would love to see before the end of the season..
Is for a saints player to get a rising star nomination. Don't think we have had one at all this year!

Me too.
Tommy Lee has looked likely, is he too old though?
We just need Newnesy to break the 30 possie mark, hes looked good this year.

This was my father's belief
And this is also mine:
Let the corn be all one sheaf--
And the grapes be all one vine,
Ere our children's teeth are set on edge
By bitter bread and wine.

Not in this game he hasn't. It would be good if he played his usual 5 minutes of footy for us.roskilde wrote:Tommy Lee has looked likely

It's a blight on Pelchen if we don't land one considering we are rebuilding and playing a lot of kids.

They seem to give them randomly at times like Marley Williams for a 20 possession game and Neade for a pretty average game. Seems like a pretty average thing these days.

Te problem is its too late now anyway. He only has a few games to prove himself if he gets a go at all and if he isnt a star right away he will get cut
Way to go Scotty
Glad Jones has played 18odd games though... That will hold us in good stead
Re: What I would love to see before the end of the season..
I'd actually rather see him knock Lyin out in round 23, actually, nah, Lenny will go on next year. Kosi, in his 200th, running through Freo's huddle, coathangering Dawson on the way to knocking Lyin out, yeah, I'd like to see that before the end of the season70s sainter wrote:Saints beat freo round 23 with Lenny knocking Dawson out.

Nathan Wright could get a nomination if he plays a few more.

7 career games and not one brownlow medal though -he is the greatest spud ever. If he was sub he was super fresh and should have made at least all australian by now. He didn't even place in our best and fairest last year.

Re: What I would love to see before the end of the season..
I'd like to see Watters get a contract extention.
This time next year, we will probably be worse off than this year, with his contract only running a few more months. The pressure will be immense, on the club and on SW. Give him the confidence to do the job he was employed to do - rebuild the club, without watching for the knives.

But it is likely we will be in the same position in 2 years time as well. He should be doing the same job whether he has one year of his contract to go or two years. we have pelchan to make sure that happens.

Agreed - he should be doing the same job. But thats not always the reality. Job stability is a huge motivating force/confidence factor in any industry.plugger66 wrote:St Chris wrote:I'd like to see Watters get a contract extention.

And I think we will be better in 2 years time. Guys like Newnes, Ross, Hickey, Lee, Webster, Wright, Saunders, Murdoch will be getting up to around the 50 game mark, with Geary, Jack, Armo, McEvoy, Roberton will be around 100-150 games, and Pelchen will have had another 2 off-seasons to work his "magic". We'll be closer to the Bulldogs of this year - showing enough signs you're past the worst of it and out the other side.
