Re: riewoldt
Why is he playing? He can hardly move. What is the point?

the way the midfield are delivering - or not delivering - into the forward line, who can blame him.

what about until he learns to stop woosing it up, flapping his arms around and blaming everybody else, but himself. I'm sick of hearing how bad his knees are if he's not up to it he's not up to it.PADDLEPOP1001 wrote:Until we learn to kick!

Re: riewoldt
No point picking on Roo - Some on here keep saying how Stanley is a 'natural' Fwd - well once again he gets an opportunity and once again - No goals.
Im pretty sure natural fwds can at least kick 1 goal in a VFL game or against a crap AFL side like tonight.
If you want to see what a you natural fwd looks like - take a good hard look at Jeremy Cameron.
Stanley is a Ruckman or nothing.
Rant over.

Re: riewoldt
What is the club supposed to do with him??? He is the most senior player. He is the best player when fit. He is the highest paid player. At the moment though, he is an overpaid, self indulgent sook who is in serious need of some "man up" pills. Time to call his year over and hope he comes back next year in a better frame of mind and if he doesn't then it is time for him to hang up his boots.

Did you watch the game? Rhys played a quarter and a half, a lot of that in the ruck.Con Gorozidis wrote:No point picking on Roo - Some on here keep saying how Stanley is a 'natural' Fwd - well once again he gets an opportunity and once again - No goals.

Re: riewoldt
I don't blame him for getting frustrated. He will sprint 150m to make a lead time after time yet how many times does a player kick the ball onto his chest? Yes, he should probably not show his frustration as much but I thinks he sets very high standards for himself and expects the same from his team mates. I am amazed at how many people bag him.In my eyes he is a true champion who over the years has won many games for us off his own boot.
Re: riewoldt
As I said yesterday, never seen a midfielder give him serve when he sprays a kick on goal.
Takes effort to get it in there, he doesn't always make their hard work pay off.
He has to get better at his body language, no wonder we get nothing kicks into the 50, do I go for goal or look for Roo....indecision means neither

It's a fair point you make. I wouldn't mind betting he gets pulled up for that this week.SainterK wrote:As I said yesterday, never seen a midfielder give him serve when he sprays a kick on goal.

Jiggingsaint everybody is calm on this thread. What are you talking about? Rooey has been behaving like this for some time. I hated it when Goddard did it and I hate it when Roo does it. Just a really juvenile look from a captain and one that only discredits himself. Can you imagine any other captain behaving like that? He is starting to resemble that Shaw fool from colonwood.

Re: riewoldt
The old saying goes something like: "praise in public, criticise in private" - Roo should learn that childish dummy-spitting it is a bad look especially for a highly regarded player and captain of the team - we have lacked leadership by example out there for most of this season.

Re: riewoldt
Calm down!!! (sorry mate couldn't resist that one!) Sorry too gosaintas I'm just being silly again! take no notice of me, I agree that Roo "doing a Richo" is NOT a "good look" but there again, MOST OF OUR FOOTBALL THIS YEAR is not a; "good look"
I would think that unless we get another tactic other than "boot it long and high to Roo" we are in for more pain, no use jumping up and down about it though...hence my "calm down" bit No offence intended.

Re: riewoldt
I personally wouldn't mind him having a go at players, when it is warranted and if backed up with supportive constructive advice (which may well happen for all we know).
It s***s me when he sprays blokes for not kicking it to him - when everyone should be encouraged not to kick it to him every time.
