I agree and I think hed be great but wouldnt he be too busy?MC Gusto wrote:We need a saviour and he has to be at the top of the pile. I have grave concerns for our future.
Youd think Jack Rush is more likely for practical reasons - but i agree the Coles bloke would be excellent youd think.

The reality is that anyone who is smart and successful and has a high profile is going to be very busy and will struggle to find the time necessary to be Prez. That includes both Ian McLeod & Jack Rush.Con Gorozidis wrote: I agree and I think hed be great but wouldnt he be too busy?

Guess we need an up and coming self promoter like Eddie was 15 years ago.Dr Spaceman wrote:The reality is that anyone who is smart and successful and has a high profile is going to be very busy and will struggle to find the time necessary to be Prez. I don't have grave concerns. We operate in a socialistic system. You can go bad, really bad and still be ok. Awesome system I reckon.

But isn't it these types who just always seem to find the time.Dr Spaceman wrote:The reality is that anyone who is smart and successful and has a high profile is going to be very busy and will struggle to find the time necessary to be Prez. One of my old bosses early on told me "if you want a job done, don't give it to someone with nothing to do".
26 years ago that was, it still rings true in almost everything.

Well that's sort of the point I was trying to make.Iceman234 wrote: But isn't it these types who just always seem to find the time.

People say "the Coles bloke" is too busy to do it but if that's the case then probably "the QC" is too busy also. And anyone else who may be suitable for that matter.
So I wouldn't rule Ian McLeod out until Ian McLeod rules Ian McLeod out

He's already said he's too busy (can't remember where I read it). In same interview he also said he won't return to Scotland until Saints win a premiership, so he's committed!

Jack rush is no spring chicken.
Doesn't need to work.
Could easily find the time if he wanted to you'd think ?

Re: When can this bloke from Coles take over??
I think Jack Rush and Ian McLeod are great people to have aboard. In any capacity.
I have to agree though we do need a more vocal president.
Sponsors and fans are dragged in to some extent by media prescence of the club.
For a club such as ours to always remain silent until we're spoken to (when we've been bad kids) is never going to progress the club.

Re: When can this bloke from Coles take over??
Like any good manager, he will get the best people he can trust, and delegate.
Will make 100% certain that things get done right.
Wesfarmers owns Bunnings, which is so damn successful that Woolworths is prepared to wear a $171mil LOSS on their Masters chain, just to grab any market share it can.
If he can build something so strong that his competition will "do whatever it takes" to claw back market share, I want HIM dragging us up the ladder.
YOU KNOW I'M RIGHT

You can do a lot when you have the money to invest. Our Board has achieved very little in this department in the past.

Markp just alluded on another thread the Westaway is giving the impression he's only just now on the way to the club to find out what's happening.MC Gusto wrote:Oh well news is out now. Great day, year, life to be a saint
