I just think the big fella is possibly struggling with an injury and needs a rest and Stanley gets a game because of needs not form at the moment!plugger66 wrote:PADDLEPOP1001 wrote:Out Gwilt,Hayes,(Both Inj),Sipposs,Mcevoy,Saunders

Wright had a massive bandage and padding on his right quad in the second half today.

Dunell and Blake were both at the ground and both preparing for game getting taped up and all sudden got pulled by Saints. Both thought they were playing until last minute.

Re: Saints v Brions - changes and discussion
Seems like Riewoldt, Hayes and Gwilt will all miss through injury.
Roberton will be right to come back and Schneider is a good chance to return.
Stanley will have to stay in the side if Riewoldt and Gwilt miss. Blake would be a pretty good chance to play too, allowing Stanley to go forward.
Siposs and Curren could be on the chopping block. I'd give Curren a full game and drop Siposs for one of Ledger, Dunnel or Ross.
Out : Riewoldt, Hayes, Gwilt (all inj), Siposs
In : Roberton, Schneider, Ledger, Blake

Where's Kosi at?
I've never seen a bad St.Kilda player - that's just how they are.

Re: Saints v Brions - changes and discussion
I reckon Dunnell is the closest of the fringe group to stepping into a regular senior position and should have been played a lot more by Watters. Siposs and Milne played lazy footy the other night and should be dropped, and Stanley shouldn't get a game purely as he is tall, as he has contributed nothing recently. Saunders will be good but needs to build his tank up, but probably needs to go back to Sandy now. I don't know where Curren was running to the other night, but it wasn't where the ball was, but he should get a full game at least. The guys who put in at Sandy yesterday and who have been in good form should be rewarded, so:
Out: Roo, Lenny, Milne, Siposs, Stanley, Saunders
In: Schneider, Ledger, Dunnell, Blake, Ross, Shenton.

My feel about Dunnel is that he gives a stuff...spert wrote:I reckon Dunnell is the closest of the fringe group to stepping into a regular senior position and should have been played a lot more by Watters. Good. So finally Blake gets another run.stkildathunda wrote:Dunell and Blake were both at the ground and both preparing for game getting taped up and all sudden got pulled by Saints. Both thought they were playing until last minute.
We have only used 37 players this year. The Pies and GC have used 40, Melbourne 38, GWS 43.
West Coast and Carlton have used 37 players like us.
My point is we should be at the 40 used mark by now. I understand Blake and Dunnell have played this season but Ledger and Shenton haven't.

Re: Saints v Brions - changes and discussion
Milney should actually go out for Saad or TDL as we need to look at the next few years not next week. They are going to be the ones playing for the spot that he vacates.

Out : Riewoldt. Hayes, McEvoy, Saunders, Sipposs, Curren, Gwilt
In : Schneider, Ross, Dunnell, Wright, Roberton, Blake, Ledger
Stanley plays Ruck / CHF - we should be using the
Ross plays the inside mid.
We should be using the next 5 games to make a judgement call on our frindge players and whether they have anything to offer in the next 3-5 years. If their no good, move them on and get in a new batch. Based on this theory, I'd suspect Ferg will be pushed on at seasons end.

His dad was a premiership player for Essendon and Sam probably has a pretty good pedigree- future captain material I reckonSainterK wrote:My feel about Dunnel is that he gives a stuff...spert wrote:I reckon Dunnell is the closest of the fringe group to stepping into a regular senior position and should have been played a lot more by Watters. Re: Saints v Brions - changes and discussion
Dunnell should be the first of those outside the regular players to gain a position, but what would I know as I thought Eddy showed signs of being good.
Another one for luck. Could Stanley play out the year on the wing as his marking and speed would serve him well wouldn't it?

Why the sudden interest in playing Blake? Has he been starring for Sandy lately or something? I would rather give Ferguson another go. The club has to decide on him, I am sure they have already decided on Blakey.
