Re: Stats From Saturday Night
When did we last, if ever, have 15 consecutive goals scored against us??
i am Melbourne Skies - sometimes Blue Skies, Grey Skies, even Partly Cloudy Skies.
Re: Stats From Saturday Night
Brutal. 15 straight? Jesus.
I think Watters got ahead of himself. Strong performances against Freo and Port got the idea into his head that we can match it with anyone and that we should go head to head with the Cats. Needs to be realistic and teach the players some more "negative" tactics to shut games down when it spins out of control. Its about being realistic when you are playing the best team in the comp, at home, coming of a loss, preparing for finals, against a rival they love to put in their place, when our young team is tired and veterans are carrying injuries or not even playing.

It's the only relevant one in my opinion.thejiggingsaint wrote:I like the stat about "light at the end of the tunnel!"
We have no need to be beating teams at the moment. We don't really have a need to try to be competitive - other than to build a culture amongst the young guys.
But Roo, Dal, Lenny etc. all were blooded when we were deadset horrible and getting walloped every week. So the winning culture thing is a bit of a myth anyway.
Just need to keep playing young guys and cross our fingers that 4-5 of them become A-graders, and cross our fingers we can draft 2-3 more A-graders over the next 1-2 years.
If we can then get 1 or 2 ready made players across from other clubs, we'll be good to go again.
Stressing and wigging out about what is happening on-field right now is a waste of effort.
It is what it is.
