Re: It's time to give Spencer White his shot...
What we need from Spencer is some consistency.
He flashes into the play at Sandy and does half a dozen good things to show his potential.
Then nothing for the rest of the game.
That won't cut it at AFL.
Today is a massive opp for him.
Put together 4 solid quarters and I reckon he will get a run next week.

The rest of Australia can wander mask-free, socialise, eat out, no curfews, no zoning, no police rings of steel, no illogical inconsistent rules.

He doesn't work hard enough yet.
No tank.
He is not ready. I reckon he would get torched if we played him.

He is the type of player that will show more at the higher level, surrounded by better players.
Problem is, he is on our list and not another teams.
That is a joke if your wondering.
So bloody droll on here.

Why would we play Spencer this year ?
Just to give hope to members ?
If we stoop to that level we really are becoming Melbourne.

Agree. A few games now, this year, will mean much much more than a few down the track. When you see first hand how hard AFL is, there's extra motivation to work harder over summer.falka wrote:He is the type of player that will show more at the higher level, surrounded by better players.

Well it will be either he or Kosi this week as Roo has been ruled out for next week.
Thats Mr. Smartarse to you

Well Kosi has been injured for 3 weeks and i still think he is injured. I doubt either will play but it will depend on his form today as it should do.

It can be a small. it could be a runner. It could be anyone. it isnt going to really matter but I reckon a player needs to deserve a game before he is picked. he may after today.
Re: It's time to give Spencer White his shot...
Give some of the untried players a go and see how they handle it.
I'd love to see White being given a go and maybe elevate Shenton for one or two games and see how he goes as well.
Hell, with 5 games to go what have we got to lose?
As "Munga" says, "When you see first hand how hard AFL is, there's extra motivation to work harder over summer", so I reckon they should give them a taste of the big time.

With all the Essendon stuff and now Saady, can we please rename this thread to,
"It's time to give Spencer White a game..."
"It's time to give Spencer White a game..."
Re: It's time to give Spencer White his shot...
With this Saady stuff Doc, it's a timely thread.

Kosi and roo were 18 when they started so let's give him a go.
Nothing to lose , give him a taste and let's see how he goes.

Would hope the best game for debut Gold Coast here under roof young defence to play against .
Why play in Brisbane when likely to be wet or dewy I think . Could be wrong

His tank isn't as bad as people are making out.
His second efforts & tackling have CLEARLY improved since his early games this season.
He just needs a body. Very skinny up top.

Re: It's time to give Spencer White his shot...
come in as sub in 3rd quarter, And he's a forward? So he should get plenty of rest down there waiting
Re: It's time to give Spencer White his shot...
Good call. If he bags one or two sausage rolls would be a great boost for supporters over the off-season after (another!) annus horribilis. Although I know they can't treat him like a toy. Watters seems very responsible with the young players.lloyd21 wrote:Would hope the best game for debut Gold Coast here under roof young defence to play against .

White won't be playing anywhere this week - out for the season with a wrist injury...
