We shouldn't be gifting games. He has heaps of potential, has played well in patches but has a lot of work to do.One Eyed Saint wrote:Why not?

He will get smashed and then we will have all the know it alls coming on here telling us his positioning was wrong in marking contests, he is soft and never going to make it.
Then there will be threads about trading him, and Pelcan should be sacked and he is the worst player ever to play for St.Kilda (apart from Jack Steven of course) and why didn't we pick Jack Darling before him, and of woe is us, lets all form a suicide pact blah blah blah.

Re: It's time to give Spencer White his shot...
It's probably better for his development to play in a forward line that gets more than 25 inside 50s.
Yeah nah pleasing positive
Re: It's time to give Spencer White his shot...
Would prefer the big Kos to get up to 200 before Spence gets a crack.
Hird... The unflushable one is now... just a turd...

Re: It's time to give Spencer White his shot...
Next week may be a good first game for him as Brisbane has got a youngish list, therefore he would be against generally lighter framed players than against more seasoned teams.
Gold Coast would be another possibility, however, would rather wait until he gets another pre season into him before he's given his first taste of AFL.

Except for the sanity nothing much has been lost.

Are you alright? Tough to swallow I know??
Perhaps address the thread with some of your own thought, I know it'd be a change, but do try?
You do need to understand, I am just a fan.... You don't have to be obsessed about everything I say? Or does it bother you, because you know there is merit, you don't want to believe to admit???
All of those sarcastic points have some merit..... In fact the opposite to those points has less merit?!

Re: It's time to give Spencer White his shot...
Anyone that thinks he'll be "gifted" a game is off target. He's earned a chance to play a few games this year.
Gehrig emerged from scans yesterday saying he was "as sweet as a bun"
Re: It's time to give Spencer White his shot...
Done nothing to deserve a game yet. Dont sandy play today? lets see how he goes. If he has what it takes then he should fire up today knowing he is a chance. If he plays well then he may be looked at. If he plays poorly then no gifting of games to him. Let him work for the games. i dont see the need for us to hurry on him. One or two games will mean jack in the long run anyway.

Are we not currently gifting games to more senior players at the moment?SaintPav wrote:We shouldn't be gifting games. He has heaps of potential, has played well in patches but has a lot of work to do.One Eyed Saint wrote:Why not?
So why not give him a game in the last two or three games if the season?

Or says in the back of his head, its easy to get games here. you dont have to play well in the seconds and work hard like others do. And anyway the guy looks to me to be a fair way off the pace.
