Scaredy Cats

Post: # 1364802Post kosifantutti »

They didn't challenge the Podsiadally decision.

Obviously they are worried about us and can't afford to risk a week off this week.

:D

They can probably smell what we're cooking. Just getting a little whiff…

b.t.w. How many games have they lost at home in the last 10 years? They must be due…

Who have they played there in the last 10 years? Oh yeh bottom 4 teams like us!

When Harvey played his first game in 1988, I was a 12yo wearing short pants and struggling with my readin', writin' and 'rithmetic in grade eight. Now, I'm a father of three and a retired AFL player. And he's still going. Amazing! - Michael Voss

I think you will find they lost by a couple of goals (2011) then went on to win the premiership. (sigh-wonder what that feels like)

Not matter how one twists it their record is pretty good

VERY good club. I hated to lose to them in 2009, but have to say that I admire the manner in which they've transformed themselves from a virtual no-hope outfit in the late nineties-early noughties to the juggernaut that they are today. I don't resent their success, not one bit. On the contrary, I feel that their example should be motivation for our club!

Have to agree Jigging.
Lyon talked about them being a good role model post 2009 grand final. Unfortunately we have taken different paths since then.
Not sure if they can win it this year but they are a chance and look well set for the next few years.

Absolutely. And living down here for the last 4 years you really notice just how successful they've been both on and off the ground.

If they weren't so good we wouldn't hate them so much; we wouldn't care. But we do and it's because, if we're honest about it, we're jealous of them.

Let's hope in 10 years time 17 other supporter groups feel the same way about us

Yes, apart from the obvious reasons to dislike some aspects of their success, I have a great deal of respect and admiration for the way in which Costa, Cook and Thompson built up a strong organization down there. Resentment and envy of this club does nothing for US, we should be aspiring to reach the same level of success as Geelong, and then IMPROVE on it!

How did we get Dawson after the 09 GF when he played in that game.

Not 100% sure about Miles or Johnson either.

Call me skeptical but when someone has been a member here for 2 years without posting, suddenly chimes in with 3 praising a certain other club while rubbishing ours… give us a break, we're on the bottom… talk about kick someone while they're down.

Was he a rookie in 09 and promoted in 2010?

I had a look at what Newsaint1 posted and I must be seeing it differently. To express respect for an opponent does not necessarily translate into "rubbishing" our club. (IMHO)
