Re: Round 18 Team v Geelong
Disappointed for Ledger, not sure what more he can do to stake a claim for senior selection! Has been great in the VFL! Sippos doesn't seem to have earnt selection to me!
Maybe this year?

If Roberton doesn't come up Dunnell will be in, not Stanley.saintbob wrote:Stanley will be straight back in if Roberton doesn't come up, which is a real possibility

Roberton yeah not surprised, but Nick ?SainterK wrote:rumours that Roo and Roberton both out...
Knee soreness? We went well against the Dockers without him, we could do well again!
Don't get mad, we are predictable with him.

Love the fact that we only have one specialist small forward. I doubt we'll fade so horribly in the midfield this week

Fade? The midfield was better in the second half last week.mad saint guy wrote:Love the fact that we only have one specialist small forward. I doubt we'll fade so horribly in the midfield this week

frustrated with this to no end
cannot believe the massive under playing of him and Dunnel.
IMO demonstrtaes something NQR with SW... a sign of prejudice or something.

Re: Round 18 Team v Geelong
Look I think we just have to accept that SW has his own very odd way of doing team selections. Most developing teams or teams out of form often make 4 or 5 changes a game yet SW doesn't like that path. Why he blatantly refuses to play Ledge is beyond me, especially when duds like TDL get run after run after showing nothing, not to mention Stanley being given too much of go considering his crap form for many weeks now.LTN16 wrote:Agree with that post!rexy wrote:Disappointed for Ledger, not sure what more he can do to stake a claim for senior selection! We should rename TDL "Toyota".
Toyota has Zero percent finance.
TDL doesn't do ANY "one percenters", he does 0%

Odd as in seeing the players an extra 30 hours a week compared to us? Odd as in knowing if they are performing at required levels off the field?saintspremiers wrote:Look I think we just have to accept that SW has his own very odd way of doing team selections.

Well I'm not convinced Watters even logs on here so how the hell can he know as much about the game and about the selection process as us?Saints43 wrote:Odd as in seeing the players an extra 30 hours a week compared to us? i don't actually agree on that i was at the Richmond game and he works pretty hard off the ball. I was actually surprised. He didn't help himself by missing his shots last game.

he had a brilliant last quarter....MCG-Unit wrote:Yes Siposs lucky, heard that he had not set the world on fire at Sandy.
Wonder whether Roberton might be a late out ?

jeez just when the forum was starting to clean up.. you drop this douzy Hickey has put a few games together in the last few weeks... time to let the big man develop. SMS you should write the club a letter of disgust and while your at it send back your membership card..SMS wrote:Siposs has a career. He can play. Stanley is a dud. Time to admit it and let him go.
also get rid of Hickey ... the guy is shocking. No skill. None. Why did we get him? GCS must be laughing it up at us.
Blicvas or whatever wouldve been better and for nothing! Wake up saint recruiters!! FFS!

Stanley has still played only 37 games- it's impossible to tell what he could be as he has been used out of position all year. He is 200cm and should be a ruck/forward. At the moment he isn't doing much but i don't think many tall guys come on quickly. Hickey looks pretty good as a prime ruck and is worth persevering with. He is still pretty raw but has done enough to show he has a bright future.
we couldn't get a ruck man on the field last year now we have 3 than can handle themselves to an acceptable standard.

No surprise there- he looked pretty bad, it was a pretty solid hit and he was obviously suffering from it. It's one of the good rules to come in the head high stuff, no one wants to see that happening regularly.

@AFL_PKeane: Dylan Roberton has withdrawn from the St Kilda side for tomorrow's match v Geelong and been replaced by Rhys Stanley.
I like stanley a lot but wonder if this will do more damage to his confidence.

Re: Round 18 Team v Geelong
I'd like to see Roo sit this one out to be honest. Just reckon SW should be picking more games later in the season for him to rest up. It's going to be a cold and crappy night at Kadinia and Roo will push himself as usual and the Geelong players will want to work him hard.SainterK wrote:rumours that Roo and Roberton both out...

What is he resting for though? Surely not next season. If he is fit then he should play, if he isnt then he shouldnt but no rest is needed.

Exactly..people are allowed an opinion but this aura of "Watters doesnt have a clue, I know better"???Dr Spaceman wrote:Well I'm not convinced Watters even logs on here so how the hell can he know as much about the game and about the selection process as us?Saints43 wrote:Odd as in seeing the players an extra 30 hours a week compared to us? It would be fair to say that Stanley was never actually out of the side.
