TDL
One of the worst saints recruiting decisions in several years and we have had a few. The absolute last thing we needed was anothe skinny, mercurial fwd. what we needed was the best full back not currently on an afl list. Seriously, what was the point? We already had Milne, Schneider, saad and Milera. And in today's footy you can only afford two at most in any one team (though on that point Watters clearly disagrees). How a very well funded AFL organization made that decision and continues to perpetuate the folly by selecting two or three players incapable of getting more than 10 possessions in the same game is a real mystery.

i could see watters idea.. Blues are a tall team. liked terry as a SUB and as sub is ment to he made impact right away.noob wrote:I'm starting to believe Scott doesn't know what his doing. I thought he would taken off a ruckman instead of Saunders. That's what the sub is all about isn't it? keeping the pace up?

Re: TDL
I liked his couple of games before the freo game where he was ok too. Wasn't his best effort but having Milne in there doesn't make his game easier. He's being groomed for post Milney and one of the three is going to have to step up- so far none is in front. All have some claim.

Re: TDL
Horribly squibbed two contests tonight and was exposed for a lack of strength all day. He'll get on the end of a few and kick some goals but he's not a long-tern AFL player. Terrible recruiting decision and we need to start playing guys who can go through the middle

Re: TDL
Milne has made a career out of scrapping goals there is nothing wrong with hanging out the back for goals he just didn't get them tonight. He was forced further away and wasn't effective.

wasn't he like pick 46?

Re: TDL
Seriously, it's not the biggest loser. We don't have the luxury of trialing 4 small fwds all season to see which might take over from Milne

Re: TDL
47 I think.. reality is he would have still been there at 65 or whatever our next pick was.gringo wrote:spot on wrote:I thought we payed overs for him too. Can't believe we didn't trade for a key position . Even Matt spanner would of been better , good enough for the hawks

Anyway - if we wants to play AFL he needs to put on 5kg-10kg of muscle.
He cant survive just being a will of the wisp type. Hes just not competitive in so many situations. Can see why the Swans gave up on him.

Re: TDL
2 kicks - what more could you ask from a crumming forward?
The rest of Australia can wander mask-free, socialise, eat out, no curfews, no zoning, no police rings of steel, no illogical inconsistent rules.

Yep we probably could have got TDL in the pre-season draft.spot on wrote:I know it was only 46 or whatever but he was gonna get delisted. We pick up pierce at 70
Or something so surely there was something decent still left at 46

Thought so...
But he did not go, in a few contests... And his effort was occasionally soft
I thought so too.

Genuine Small Forwards are dead in the modern game, your small forwards must be rotating midfielders.
You don't see any of the top teams such as Geelong and Hawthorn with genuine small forwards sitting in the forward line or off the ball all game getting under 10 disposals, they are small forwards who can legitimately play midfield.
I would much rather see Tommy Curren play as a small forward rotating through the midfield then see TDL and Milera do s*** all again next week.

TDL and Saad need to either learn how to become midfielders (and bulk up to do it) or go back to VFL/WAFL footy permanently and kick their 4 easy goals a week and stop wasting our time.

TDL, Milera and Saad have virtually no future at AFL level.
