Will Malthouse really want to win Saturday Night?
That's the question, with Carlton seemingly at very long odds to make the finals now, will Malthouse be trying to win Saturday night, or experimenting to see who is worth keeping.
It's painfully obvious that the list there isn't as good as a lot of people think and that finishing in the second week of the finals is the best they can do.
He may be more interested in lower spot on the ladder so he can do some recruiting to build his list up and cut out their deadwood.
Which is all fine by me, because I just like beating the SOB's most of the time now.

Except for the sanity nothing much has been lost.

Wishful thinking, but I reckon with all the Malthouse hype they'd be desperate for a finals finish.
Remember, if you remove cheating Essendope, they are only 1 game out of the finals!

He needs win because the jungle drums are beating. There are no supporters that go as feral when their expectations aren't met.

Think Malthouse is well aware of what he has and where his deficiencies are with list, dropping one spot isn't going to impact DPs enough to tank, still a chance at finals anyway! Think most on here could have told him that they have to many rucks and not enough genuine forwards, there back line is missing something but may be ok with a bit more score board pressure being applied by themselves. They actually have a couple of blokes who might be worth looking at on the trade table next season. Matthew Watson is a high draft pick with nice disposal who isn't getting a game!
Maybe this year?

No - Mick will definitely want to lose........

If it doesn't work, apparently he has a doomsday device in his shed at home........

100% wants this win... finals chances are getting slim for him.3rd generation saint wrote:That's the question, with Carlton seemingly at very long odds to make the finals now, will Malthouse be trying to win Saturday night, or experimenting to see who is worth keeping.
