They tackled though, not sure they can help being second to the ball....but I'll be boring if I bring it up again.plugger66 wrote:5 the dud

Also forgot about how good TDLs first half was. Probably deserved that one vote anyway.

You cannot be fair dinkum if you give any votes on that performance. We must be tanking!

I'm going on 1% and tackling mainly.Bernard Shakey wrote:You cannot be fair dinkum if you give any votes on that performance. We must be tanking!
We're consistently second to the ball, and I'm consistent in saying that unless you're Ablett, it's harder than you think to fly blind in the middle. Couple that with the fact we have about 5-6 guys running through there.
I reckon I saw all of Foley, Cotchin, Martin, Biscuits, Conca, Deledio, S Edwards, Jackson, Grigg, Ellis running through theirs.
Re: Votes v Tiges
5 Stevens - consistent and gutsy
4 Armo - lifted when it looked like it might get really ugly
3 Rooey - didn't seem to run as much, might be injured (more injured than usual)
2 Dennis lane - put it through the big sticks when he had too, that's refreshing
1 Dal Santo - seemed to get a lot of it but didn't seem to do a lot with it

Re: Votes v Tiges
I find it very strange that a mediocre performance on a day like today can get the same votes as an excellent performance on another day.
Personally I prefer the system used in The Age, top five rated out of 10. If the best player deserves 10 that's what he gets. If three players deserve 7 that's what they each get. I seem to remember one game last year where the top vote was 6 for five players

Re: Votes v Tiges
Looking at that game, all I can say is a few of our players did a few good things, mostly ran second all day and didn't put any pressure on the opposition ball carriers...Steven, Armo and NDS picked up possessions, but their defensive games are ordinary, especially when the ball was loose. Jones and Roo played with the intensity required, just need a few more to do the same.

4. Roo
3. NDS
2. Steven
1. TDL (because he kicked a couple of goals in a non-existant forward line, and did a reasonable defensive job on Houli)
