nope can't wear him.....crap footballer who cost us a flag imhfo......unforgiveable....should have done a cowboy and knocked that retard out..... .
I mean seriously, talk about a scapegoat. In a team game the weakest thing to do is blame one player imhfo!!
We looked gone at half time even though we were in front on the scoreboard in '97. Their midfield was dominant and it wasn't only because we didn't have Vidovic or Spider that day.
We were getting beaten in the clearances and contested possession as far as I could recall. We were relying on 19 yr olds to win it for us and relying on goals of the year to get the scoreboard ticking over. If you're gunna say one player cost us a flag in '97, then I don't think he was playing for the Saints that day...he was on the other side and he was Gary Jr and Cyril rolled into one..and these days he weighs more than both of 'em combined
seriously can't you see that my post was a bit tongue in cheek ffs....
.....i don't blame him entirely...another contributing factor was our coach.....
anyway...the saints pissed shanahan off after that game.......i think they had a reason of sorts...
Didn't read tongue in cheek sorry stinger

Peckett was very skilled.... In particular his kicking skills
Lazar... 80 games from 1989-1997
12 touches, 12 hit outs.... Averages
And that great 1997
He played 7 games.... Only once reached double figure hit outs, only twice double figure possessions
And we have a crack at Ben Mac

I will always remember (but try to forget) Peckett kicking it straight to an Adelaide player in a kick in a few times in 1997, including in the Grand Final. Made me think of him as a GOP.

If 100 games earns a mention we can't forget Gilbo and CJ in the current list and agree with the nomination for J Blake. Easily our 'Best GOP' to have played in last 20

Heath Black cost us a FRP and was meant to be highly rated

Timmy Pekin and Frankie Coghlan. The Eel as well. Maybe a bit older than 20 years.

GOP - I would think over 100 games would disqualify you from the rating.

Re: Best GOPs of last 20years
To me, a GOP is someone that a lot of supporters think is s*** but other supporters think he fills a role so he's a GOP.
Take Jayson Daniels. To me he was just s*** but to others he was a GOP. Or Clint Jones. I think he's a GOP but others think he's just s***....
BTW Heatley was the most accurate set shot on goal I've ever seen. He was our man at full-forward in the '97 GF. Wasn't his fault we lost, either...
