Re: TDL
Has kept his position for the Melbourne game.
Saad played like someone very down on confidence, you could see that by his reaction to that great goal he kicked on 3/4 time.

Re: TDL
Pleasantly surprised at how well TDL competed throughout the entire game, not simply a few flashy plays.
To make the Swans list and play games with them,he must have ability. He has just earned another game, to show what he can give.

Better sack Montagna in that caseBushman wrote:He's paid to kick goals and the two misses from straight in front in the 1st qrt cost us dearly. He wasn't the lone ranger but if he can't kick em he shouldn't be there.

What's with his shorts? Harry high pants type of thing going on.
Was pleasantly surprised with his game.

Re: TDL
Out of our small forwards he appears the one most likely to support the midfield.
Saad is purely a forward as he cannot win the ball and as such needs to be on the end of a supply line.
Milne is just too dangerous to take away from the front.

Re: TDL
The first time I've seen anything from him to suggest he was worth a spot on our list. I was pretty impressed, he looked like he was really enjoying getting another crack in the senior team
Definitely keeps his spot for the Melbourne game.

Re: TDL
He was an emergency for the Swans Grand Final team last year, basically, one injury away from being a premiership player.

Re: TDL
Definitely should be there against the Dees.
But not enough room in the team for three small forwards, so Saad should be dropped.

Re: TDL
Think I read that Milera racked up 24 touches and 2 goals for Sandy, so maybe he could be in for Saad against the Dees. Got to watch TDL up close for Sandy a couple of games, and he definitely has the ability, just needs to bring consistency to his game.

Re: TDL
I thought that TDL looked quite good. A bit cleaner in a few passages and he would have been good. Just needs to gain confidence an lit is workrate to be in the game more. However is almost 25, and so he needs to be more in the "arrived" rather than "arriving" mode. Has plated only 23 games though.
I also believe that playing three GENUINE big forwards helped all of our small forwards get into the game more.
At this stage too it looks to be a case of no more than 2 of TDL, Milera and Saad.

Re: TDL
TDL looked okay but is he really anything useful medium to longer-term?
No.
He (along with Milera) has the physicality of a small child.

Agree, but they have football ability and smarts... Two things that Saad is severely lacking...The Redeemer wrote:TDL looked okay but is he really anything useful medium to longer-term?

I'd have one of either of those two in ahead of Saad, to play alongside Milney...

Re: TDL
one thing that helped our forwards bizarrely was Roo wasn't there early on. It gave Maister much more range and he didn't defer to Rooey. TDL has some pace and looks good. Worked well away from goal too.

Re: TDL
I only heard the game on radio, but if he can continue like that - and kick straight - then we may have found a bonus player, especially seeing most (including myself) had written him off as a wasted pick.
Hopefully he can continue to improve.
And just maybe Watters et al. do actually know what they're doing.........

Re: TDL
Saad, Milera & TDL all bruise free footballers. From time to time they may play the odd good game but the way they play is not what wins finals. Not a defensive bone in the three of them. I then look at Saunders who has plenty more to offer and has a defensive side to his game. Saunders should always play before these three as we need to get 50 games into him.
Re: TDL
Nice leap and took some good marks.
From what I saw he looked Ok.
