Clinton Jones... i just don't know how he can possibly get game...
I'm of the opinion Maister will be a GOP... still getting over the hand injury but will offer up a bit this weekend, i have no doubt in my mind...
TDL in is a worry but im glad Saad got dropped..

Re: Confirmed Team for Sunday's clash against West Coast
I thought dunnel would be a regular this year, glad he gets his chance, got some poise about him. Not to keen for jones.
Re: Confirmed Team for Sunday's clash against West Coast
Happy to see Dunnell get a run... Rate him higher than a few other that have been given a good go, namely TDL, Saad and to a lesser extent, Terry... Although I think Terry's in one week out the next is a bit stiff also...
The other in's, not much to comment on... I guess Maister is getting a warm up match before his twice annual BOG against Melbourne the following week..
Would've preferred to see Ledger get a go as an inside mid as opposed to going back to Jones... ho-hum.

Sipposs out surprises me. He could be used as another forward option to help out Roo.
I would have thought we were too thin on the ground to be able to drop him ?

Re: Confirmed Team for Sunday's clash against West Coast
My guess is Jones to get a job on Kerr,Priddis ? Whether he can do it is another matter
Happy with Dunnell back in as I rate him
Maister to play forward,as he was very ordinary when tried in backline,so Stanley to stay back, would have liked to see Stanley go against Nic Nat in the ruck
TDL,doesnt fill me with confidence, hope I am wrong

Pathetic. Another thrashing with the same underperformering old hacks is coming our way. If we're going to be playing old guys who aren't up to it, then it should be Blake to allow Stanley to play forward or Kosi to at least stretch the opposition for height.

Re: Confirmed Team for Sunday's clash against West Coast
I can see the logic with Maister, it was either him or Kosi as we need a second big forward. Lee has had one good game in the VFL, will need a couple more.
Mind you, though I see the logic, doesn't mean I'm happy about it, with Glass and Brown out, here is Maisters chance to do something.
After Saad didn't show up last week, and TDL kicking goals in the VFL, he has to be given another go, let's hope he shows more.
Sipposs has been poor, and has lost confidence, needs to be managed and get his head back together, has the ability, but looks a little lost at the moment.
Hopefully Dunnel will show some of the promise he showed last year.
Can anyone tell us about Simpkin, he seems to have disappeared, where is he out, fitness wise.

Except for the sanity nothing much has been lost.

Based on what I saw last week from Simpkin I would say he is about right to go fitness wise after this week.3rd generation saint wrote:I can see the logic with Maister, it was either him or Kosi as we need a second big forward. Lee has had one good game in the VFL, will need a couple more.

You're funny Scotty.
TDL, Jones, Maister.
Is it the comedy channel on Sunday twilight at Etihad.
Must check what channel that is.

Be easy on SW. Selection night is not his strong point. But neither is match day.mad saint guy wrote:Pathetic. Another thrashing with the same underperformering old hacks is coming our way. At least he is developing the kids. Or keeping the seat warm.

Hard to argue with the outs on last week's form. Don't know about the ins, though. I'd like to have seen Lee given a crack instead of Maister.St.Kilda:

For mine, Milne hasn't been travelling that much better has he?
Didn't his opponent get 30+ on the weekend?
I do agree with only playing one of Saad and Milne and hope that when Saad gets back in we won't persevere with two specialist forward pocket players.

I honestly thought the season couldn't get any worse until these three were selected.coopergrech wrote:Sunday Teams:

If we don't play well, Watters will be under some serious scrutiny after picking another very odd team.

Exactly the outs that I hoped for except that I thought they could have sipposs as sub- he is still unfit- he'd want to pull his finger out soon.
Saad - needs to go back to seconds
Ferguson - not up to it yet
Fisher - was useless last week.
However wanted lee and simpkin to come in. Happy with jones at the moment purely cause he gets clearances .dunno much about dunnell.

To me, Siposs is a lazy footballer. He possesses some beautiful natural talent but lacks the required intensity and work rate that would see him become a first grade regular.howlinwolf wrote:Sipposs out surprises me. He could be used as another forward option to help out Roo.

Quite possibly - a lot of them do at the start. Let's hope the penny drops and he becomes good before we have to give up.Heidelberg_Saint wrote:To me, Siposs is a lazy footballer. Seems odd, 19 touches & 5 tackles in a losing side… 3rd game of AFL footy.plugger66 wrote:Why was Hutchings dropped?
I didn't see it though…

It'll be good to get a close look at Brown. I think he'll still be on our radar at season's end.
I've never seen a bad St.Kilda player - that's just how they are.
