Was there, great night but lack of any Saints inductees very disappointing (especially given some who were on the night). Not much Saints representation at all in fact, saw Big Carl and heard Rossy Smith was there, that was all I was aware of.

We've had very little team success over the years (that's stating the obvious) but no doubt we have had more than our share of out and out individual stars. But the Hall of Fame is pretty bare of Sainters. Sure we have 2 and a half legends, ie Cazaly and the Doc, (I count Stewy as a haf given his achievements with Tigers too) but only 5 of over 170 Hall of Famers (Big Carl, Harves, Plugger (could count him as a half too), Billy Mohr and Rossy Smith.

I won't list the possibles but think of all our champs, not just the Brownlow medallists not in the Hall of Fame, and there must be a case for many more Sainters to be added. Probably lack of those who have been premiership players doesn't help but Scott West isn't and he did say on the night that is his biggest regret that despite all his other honours he doesn't have the title of premiership winner.

Was talking to an AFL senior staffer who said the onus is on the club to initiate nominations so just hope some work is being done for future nominees.
