Over trying even, either way he should get a crack IMO....might fall into place if he comes in and is surrounded by good leaders.
I'm sure he's frustrated.
Won't fall into place, because he thinks he's the be all and end all, and he's far from it.

Why should it matter if he's arrogant if he does the training and performs on the day? He's obviously fit enough since he's regularly racking up big numbers as an onballer for Sandy. The majority (say 60%) of AFL players are morons who are totally full of themselves. These traits generally transfer well for elite sports performance.

I agree MSG, I don't always buy into this character business....a midfielder that expects a lot out of himself is OK if he comes in a backs it up.

At this point though, we'll never know.

Why can't Ledge be a grumpy young man? He will work through whatever is troubling him.

Speak for yourself, I may be old, but I'm far from grumpy.

I've been watching this bloke for three years now and nothing's changed. In 2011 I thought he'd be a star when he grew up. He hasn't grown up. He'll be delisted at the end of this season.

In ledger Saunders
Out wright (inj) Milne

Don't drop ferguson, Siposs and saad...back them in and take away their mentors as a show of trust.

Saad instead of Milne, ferguson instead if fisher, Siposs instead of Maister.

Webster in to cover wright, josh or Tom to sub, guys like Armo and joey can rest forward.

I'd also make two significant moves, hear me out.

Ben back this week to take cox/Nicnat who will murder us otherwise.

Fisher forward to play on glass.

Milne out... really!!

For mine he was in our best players, I liked that he was more engaged up the ground

And he always looked like something positive might happen when he got the ball

Not sure what game you were watching?

Not many posters suggesting Dunnel. Why has he fallen of the radar?

Guess Ray & Dal Santo get a break this week from folks wanting them tipped out..........

Hope inside mids like Ledger, Jones, or Curren come in. Consider Maister, Saunders, Lee, Murdoch & Dennis-Lane

Webster full game

Out: Wright (if inj) Saad, maybe Ferguson/Siposs

Lee yes;
Curren is a rookie and cannot be elevated;
Ledger has a major attitude problem that will probably stop him ever being an AFL player.
CVan you please elaborate on Ledger's "major attitude problem". May explain why he has seemingly fallen out of favour as has shown signs in past and consistently in best for Sandy yet others keep overtaking him. Thanks

If Stanley plays forward/ruck which is likely given his success vs north then we can't have both Ben & Hickey. So who goes?

How do people see this?

I've never seen a bad St.Kilda player - that's just how they are.

Put Gilbert on LTIL or make up an injury for Blake/Jones to get Curren elevated.

Out: Fisher (not interested), Gwilt (not suited to modern footy), Ferguson (not up to it), Hickey (doesn't work with McEvoy)
In: Simpkin, Dunell, Curren, Ledger

There's no way it will happen but that's what I'd do. Dempster is now our best negating defender. Simpkin played well on bigger opponent last year. Dunell, Curren and Ledger are all playing well at Sandy and we might as well see if they're up to it.

If Watters recalls Maister, Jones or TDL he will have lost my support.
Dempster 191cm 89kgs. Nic Nat 203cm 109kgs, Cox 202cm 107kgs, Kennedy 196cm 100kgs. Who would you suggest Dempster plays on????? I love the bloke, but if he gets any of these as opponents I fear for him

Sounds like Wrights scans were all clear, and if he passes a fitness test he'll play this week according to Scott, who praised his hardness....that's good news

Thinking maybe Saunders is in this week, and maybe Ledge and Dunnel going from comments in the media so far.
Saad out, don't know who else out....

Good news. Wright was a bit rusty last week. Hopefully he'll be back to his usual standard this week.

You should think about going to Sandy and having a look. He still has the outstanding talent he came with in that he can pick the ball up in traffic and he knows where to run and he still has the same deficiencies in that his disposal is just okay and often he resorts to trying to roost it forward without looking. He's started handballing a bit more. It may just be me but he seems to have got a bit fitter. Before this year he would blow up after only a quarter or two. He's still short of AFL standard though in respect of fitness. Quite apart from all that he treats every decision paid against him as either a mystery or a crime and doesn't mind continuing the dialogue to the point of losing interest in running or competing immediately.

Well, our midfield is woeful at the moment, so let's keep trying different players through there and we might crack a good combination that actually works.
