Re: Tom Lynch
Lynch looked so slow and awkward when he "ran" in to kick one of his 10 goals = it took him an eternity to turn around and face the goals, once he "broke" a non-existent GWS "tackle" (a lackle, or a slackle would be the apt term here)- that it almost looked comical.
I meant slackle as in slack tackle, not sliding tackle as per urban dictionary -

Gee you're no fun. If you are going to take a logical and realistic approach, where does that leave us armchair experts?gringo wrote:We should get a time machine going. I would be the greatest recruiter ever. Who has a spare flux capacitor and a De Lorean sitting around.
Everyone knows the 08 draft was crap. The recruiters had two picks in the top 47 and what did we get?
A hack, alright he kicked ten goals against weak opposition, but he is 22 and should be doing more.
And pick 47 a 200 cm speed machine that has no upside. Fair dinkum, did those recruiting numb skulls get paid that year. As for the rookie draft. A full back, who is crap ( Dawson). So what if he is getting a game with a top 8 side. And Simpkin who has shown us nothing and to make it worse those two rookies aren't even a need area. Everyone knows St Kilda are chock full of back men.

Re: Tom Lynch
you are absolutely on the money. Yes. Good on him. i don't think many, if any, on this forum rated young Tom. But good on him for bagging ten. The Opposition was pretty ineffectual but I don't want to denigrate his achievement. If Lynch can fix the Crows forward woes in the absence of Taylor Walker then so be it. I wish him well (except when he is playing the Saints).plugger66 wrote:10 goals. Great effort. got 10 to one on him kicking more than 11 today.

Re: Tom Lynch
Lynch looked quite useful. Seemed to have a pretty good engine. Probably shows that players often take 3-4 years to develop.
We are very impatient with our players. Another symptom of our poor recruiting/development record. Just got to hope we get it vaguely right from here on in under Pelchen's reign.

Lynch asked for a trade. If anyone got impatient it wasn't us.Verdun66 wrote:We are very impatient with our players.

Re: Tom Lynch
Lynch took 11 marks last night or thereabouts and did ok but you would expect that he would given we were smashed in the midfield and in the clearances.
He might carve out a good AFL career but I see him as more a third forward type and not the main go to guy. I think he'd struggle given were we are at.
The future is Newnes, Wright, Roberton, Webster, Siposs etc etc.
