Final siren website lists all players with less than 50 games experience.

Ranked for av disposals ...we have no one in the Top 100. Bulldogs have 8

Ranked for av DT points..we have no one in the top 50,,,Bulldogs have 6,

Make of this what you will.

How long have Footscray been rebuilding now? Longer than us.

Havn't watched them this year, so out of curiousity what positions do they play?. Midfielders naturally see more of the ball and we don't have any in there that are under 50 games, Steven is something like 60.

A little surprised Roberton isn't in there.

Also how many of ours are under 10 games or 20 games. They will still qualify for this stat after the seasons end and perhaps even after the 2014 season, assuming they don't play every game. Again I don't know anything about the dogs but will this apply to them aswell?

Don't be surprised if we run the Bulldogs back into form

Watched the Suns-Sogs game. It was tight till half time.
The dogs seemed to run out of legs in the third qtr. suns got a run on and kicked 6 straight. Margin was 4 goals at 3/4 but the dogs had only kicked 7 till then so couldn't see them winning.
Suns continued in the last to win easily.

We should win if we fire like against the scum

This is what he's talking about. It's averages for guys who had less than 50 games coming into this year, over their whole career. That's why Roberton isn't in there.

Yeah nah pleasing positive

All that shows is how far away we are from going back up the ladder. We get excited by our young kids and probably have a reason to be but they are 3 years away from really having an impact. WB maybe behind us but are actually ahead of us in moving up the ladder.

Whatever the Dogs are doing, it's not really working that well, and hasn't for a few years. Both us and the Dogs have a big problem- woeful forward lines, but we have one advantage- Roo. I'm not sure where Siposs should be played, but probably best to develop as a middle size FF. Ross, Newnes and Webster will obviously be good players, but right now, we need to find another tough half forward, or at least a marking, mobile forward.

There's a lot of bagging of the dogs on here, how they are rabble & how good our kids are, the truth is most of us on here probably don't know much about the young dogs players… they could be well ahead of ours really.

We'll certainly find out in the next few years. Without Riewoldt this year we would be on the very bottom of the ladder I reckon.

GWS and GCS only have one or two more kids in that list than the doggies....

who do you think will be up and about earlier/longer?

I dont really think its a good indicator

Interesting viewing though

Correct.

As anyone with a clue knows, we are very likely bottom 4 material until 2016 when there may be an upswing.

those stats can be misleading .... from the look at the Dogs team it makes sence that their under 50 gamers are getting more possesion because they dont have a NDS Montagna Fisher Roo Dempster or Gwilt in their team ... also we cant count Steven Armo and McEvoy because they are a touch over 50 games.. that being said possesions dont mean much if there is nothing to kick too ... the dogs are prob a bit more advanced in their rebuild (they have a 2 year head start on us) but we still have the stronger team ... come next year if we lose a bit more experiance they will prob over take us

Which isn't all too bad, considering all those early draft picks we'll be getting.....

we'll be a juggernaught by 2020.

Just realised its probably not fair comparison on a few levels..so I looked a bit deeper..comparing our kids against others who have played the same amount of games..its a bit more flattering..

5 GAMES: 12 players, Nathan Wright ranked 9th Dunell 10th. Leader Josh Thomas (Coll)

6 GAMES: 15 players, Seb Ross ranked 7th... Leader Brett Goodes (Dogs)

13 GAMES: 9 players, Jack Newnes ranked 5th ..Leader Kyle Horsley (GCS)

21 GAMES: 12 Players, Terry Milera ranked 3rd, Aryn Siposs 5th. Leader Sam Gibson (North)

24 GAMES: 8 players, Ahmed Saad rated 3rd. Leader Dayne Zorko (Bris)

So you can see our kids are tracking OK measured against their peers..but we'd hope for a steady rise through the ranks to set us up for a halt to the slide next year

Lies, Damn Lies and Statistics.

If you change the sort criteria to SuperCoach points instead of disposals we have 4 players (Saad, Dennis Lane, Milera, Maister) in the top 50 and they have 3. I'm sure if you change the criteria to 60 games and include the likes of Steven and Armitage we look better again.
