Re: Ross tonight
And hopefully not on the illegal substances like his cousin.
The rest of Australia can wander mask-free, socialise, eat out, no curfews, no zoning, no police rings of steel, no illogical inconsistent rules.
They can even WATCH LIVE FOOTY!

Re: Ross tonight
Why is he being compared to Watson? Seems to be a different player and different body type.
I know he is Jobe's cousin, and they are mids, but I just cant see playing styles that are similiar. Again, better footy minds may have a different opinion.
And what with the concern trolling re him going to Essendon? Plenty of cousins play football, even brothers (Selwoods for example) and you never hear talk of them going to the relo's club.
Just settle. A long time before he would even attract interest and big $$. And anyway Essenson are SC strapped. It would be more likely us taking an Essendon player than the opposite.

Lance or James??
There comes a point in every man's life when he has to say, "Enough is enough." For me, that time is now. I have been dealing with claims that I cheated and had an unfair advantage in <redacted>. Over the past three years, I have been subjected to a <redacted>investigation followed by <redacted> witch hunt. The toll this has taken on my family, and my work for <redacted>and on me leads me to where I am today – finished with this nonsense. (Oops just got a spontaneous errection <unredacted>)

Exactly. I have no idea why we are so paranoid about losing players. We may have lost BJ but I dont reckon we made a huge effort to keep him. We have huge salary cap room now so we should only lose players we arent keen to keep.
Re: Ross tonight
It's not just that jobs is his cousin.
He had his heart set on going to the bombers, and saints beat them by taking him at an earlier than expected pick.
I reckon we can keep him, but say its just because its his cousin isn't quite true.

Where did this info come from? Has anyone actually heard him say anything that backs this up?SainterK wrote:He had his heart set on going to the bombers…
Or is it just perceived?

didn't bj have his heart set on Carlton and we drafted him?
Good thing he finally got there.
Great that Steven Salopek played all those games for the Saints.
Dont know if having your heart set on any club is realistic when you a are in a draft.
Considering only 75-80 players are picked in the draft you should count yourself lucky to be on any AFL list.
Once you are on a list and any good, the only real way of getting to another club is to be traded or in exceptional circumstance like Luke Ball.
otherwise delisted FA, or 8-10 year FA.

I watched his pre draft video the other day and he said something like 'Id go anywhere to play footy' and he looked liked he meant it.
Reality is there are 18 teams. He had like a 5% chance of going to the Bombers and they picked up some other bloke ahead of him.
He could have ended up at GWS, Melbourne or Brisbane or Port or whatever. Id say hes pretty happy to be at the Saints all things considered.
There is absolutely no evidence to suggest the Bombers had any interest him anyway.

Re: Ross tonight
Reminds me of Sam Mitchell - strong in the tackle and has great awareness around him - skills might even be better
The Devil makes work for idle hands!!!
