Close to the mark I believe. The umpires pay those rubbish decisons to Collingwood as they know that any noise from StKilda will just fall on deaf ears or theyll just dismiss it as StKilda where expected to lose. If Collingwood copped that rubbish and complained there would be immediate media responce and people would start looking into it as Collingwood where heavy favourites and it had to be poor umpiring that evened out the result.Mr Magic wrote:Maybe the umpires are reading/hearing/watching all the 'experts' continually tell everybody that our defence is undersized and therefore are looking for our 'undersized defenders' to infringe against their bigger opponents?
That doesn't explain why we're continually missing out at the other end of the ground though.
Also doesn't explain the shocking decision against Geary.
BUT that could just be an error?

Re: Frees For/Against -- the facts
I reckon it's swings and roundabouts. If we were playing better these things would fade into the background and we wouldn't be playing the victim card. I agree we seem to have been stiff so far but so what. Whinging about the umpires is embarrassing. Some days/years you get the rub of the green, others you don't. There is no AFL agenda with the umpires. Our defenders seem to specialise in scragging as the ball is coming in. It will always be a free. If we organised properly there would be a 3rd man up and the ball would be punched away with ease. Our backline seems so unsettled in structure that we rarely get that luxury. We will get there.
