Thanks jenner and eastern for those excellent reports

Just our luck.. We play kosi (for some unknown reason) who then cops 4 weeks suspension and then Hickey plays well and gets injured.

That kind of year for us.

At least we know Hickey is a long term keeper and we can all say our official farewells to Kosi cos there is no way on earth Kosi will be back next year now.

Wasn't tracking stats but he is in next week based on that performance. Was also the last guy off the ground for the Zebs and looked to be favouring left leg pretty heavily.

Ledger was good, especially after half time and would be a lock for seniors if he never had to kick. Clearance work was good and work in close was good but kicking is haphazard at best.

Ferg was OK without being a standout. Looks like they're trying to groom him as KPD. Curren was very good, and Dunnel was a standout in the first half (second half the ball spent much less time in the Sandy backline).

I reckon you're full of it young fella.
If you're gonna post, put some effort into it.......

Yes it was ,
I watched the first half , the team was ordinary for most of it , they improved half way through the second but let the blues desperation helped set up a goal right on half time .
Pissed off , i went down the beach for a walk only to be surprised when i came back near 3/4 time to see we were a chance !
So I watched the last and it was a great win !
They looked so much better than quarter 1 , when we were lucky to string together any clean disposal .

Jimmy G was solid
Tdl is a class above vfl but always wants the easy ball
Ray was good , don't no why he carn't preform well in the seniors
Hickey should come in for kosi
Curren , dunnell and ledger need keep playing well to grab a spot in the seniors .
shenton looks impressive but the ball never seemed to bounce his way today , would be behind these three ?
Blakey was blakey , a great servant to the club !

He can and would have done better than, for example, Murdoch or Saunders. That is because he is in his prime as a player and they are kids.

Unfortunately, at only 27, his papers may be signed and is seen as an easy out to get games into the kids.

Thanks Sir
Well I didnt think he played - but thanks for the confirmation.
In my defence that information wasnt easy to find and was buried amongst a dozen posts on Spencer White... :D

VFL report

Round 5 of the Peter Jackson VFL has been completed with Williamstown and Sandringham winning the Sunday matches:

SANDRINGHAM d NORTHERN BLUES: Sandringham has staged a miraculous second half comeback, to turn a 38 point third quarter deficit - at the 20 minute mark - into a 13-point victory against the Northern Blues. Whilst the Zebras recorded their second win in a row, and a spot in the eight, the Blues suffered back to back losses, after opening the season with two wins.

Marcus Marigliani was pushed forward in the second half and it produced results, with the captain kicking two goals, along with great input from Tom Curren (22 disposals), Hamish Shepheard (22) and Farren Ray (26) Tom Ledger (31). The Blues were unable to stop a seven goal run by Sandringham that started with Trent Dennis Lane in the third term, and was completed by a Jay Lever goal 12 minutes into the final term, giving the Zebras a six point lead. The final term then went goal for goal, with the Blues only regaining the lead by a point at the 19 minute mark, before the Zebras steadied for the win. Chris Michaelides was named best for Sandringham, along with Sam Dunnell, Adam Cockie and Shepheard. For Northern Blues, Levi Casboult (four goals) and Luke Mitchell (3) were the main avenues to goal, whilst leading disposals went to Tom Bell (26 disposals), Kane Lambert (25), Andrew Collins (24), Marc Watson (23), Aaron Joseph (22) and Frazer Dale (18).

the Herald Sun report
Sandringham pulled off a huge upset against Northern Blues yesterday, coming back from a six-goal deficit to win 20.10 (130) to 18.9 (117) at Trevor Barker Oval.

St Kilda-listed Tom Ledger (31 disposals) and Farren Ray (26) led the way for the Zebras.

Apparently Webster's house burnt down in Tassie last week so he was home helping out the family, or so I heard.

I had a position behind the Sandi bench. Hickey was getting heaps of work done on his quad/groin/hip each & every time he came off for a spell. Each time he went back on in the second half the limp seemed to get a bit worse !!

NEW scarf signature (hopefully with correct spelling) will be here as soon as it arrives !!
