Re: Sandringham vs Northern Blues
Any word on Gwilt's game?
Except for the sanity nothing much has been lost.

Re: Sandringham vs Northern Blues
Bigcarl your point b is an accurate one, the Austrlian cricket team rotation policy is crap, and I hope that is not the case herebigcarl wrote:Eithersuss wrote:Resting White? Seriously, he's 18 years old for God's sake and it's only round 5...
a) he is injured
b) it is sports science out of control a la the Australian cricket rotation policy, or
c) he is being freshened up for Carlton this week
I love this club

Fantastic win to the Zebs.
Fantastic second half.
They switched on halfway through the third and looked by far the more desperate team.
Stirring stuff!

The rest of Australia can wander mask-free, socialise, eat out, no curfews, no zoning, no police rings of steel, no illogical inconsistent rules.

Re: Sandringham vs Northern Blues
We were there and Hickey played as a key forward with very sparse runs in the ruck. Suffered from poor delivery and when the ball started coming in with some regularity in the third he kicked at least two, maybe three and created another.
Wasn't tracking stats but he is in next week based on that performance. Was also the last guy off the ground for the Zebs and looked to be favouring left leg pretty heavily.
Ledger was good, especially after half time and would be a lock for seniors if he never had to kick. Clearance work was good and work in close was good but kicking is haphazard at best.
Ferg was OK without being a standout. Looks like they're trying to groom him as KPD. Curren was very good, and Dunnel was a standout in the first half (second half the ball spent much less time in the Sandy backline).

And on Jimmy, was solid wihtout being great, but his kicking just stands out as a class above. Was often the go to man in defence for the kick out to the half back line. Looked to be moving well enough.

Re: Sandringham vs Northern Blues
Just back from the game;
Farren Ray was Very Good to Excellent
Sam Dunnell had an Excellent first half and reasonable second half
Tom Ledger got a lot of ball in close but butchered it too often for me. He also looks like he needs a bit more urgency in his game
Trent Dennis-Lane looked like he wanted to prove something and may have done enough
Jimmy Gwilt worked his way into the game and will be better for the run
Tom Hickey was getting A LOT OF WORK on his hip/quad every time he came off. This may preclude him from selection next week
Tommy Curren had a massive second half
For mine; Farren, Jimmy, Sam & TDL are the most likely to push for senior selection next week. Tom Ledger a real outsider. Tom Hickey would have a ? with his hip/quad !!
