Tom Boyd? !!
Monster Power Forward from Eastern Rangers. Could go somewhere in the top 10 in this year's Draft. Could be what we need !!
NEW scarf signature (hopefully with correct spelling) will be here as soon as it arrives !!

Probably go 1-3, so not going to happen, but Lordy what a forward line that could give down the tracks (assuming some natural improvement of course!)...
HF: SIPOSS // WHITE // MILERA
FF: HICKEY // BOYD // SAAD
And that's not including potentials like Minchington, or the forgotten man Dan Markworth...

Schramberg is going to be a very good player and should available around pick 6 to 12 I think.

If we have Saad and Milera in the team going forward we are in big trouble. Both physically weak, don't win their own ball and defensively useless. There are plenty of kids running around in the TAC Cup that are better options, we just have to get our recruiting right post pick 15. Last few seasons has been very poor. At least in 2012 we picked up Wright which is a move in the right direction. Get along and watch a top TAC Cup team like the Geelong Falcons or Gippsland Power as there are plenty of quality young players (who win their own ball) in these sides.Uncle Barrels wrote:Probably go 1-3, so not going to happen, but Lordy what a forward line that could give down the tracks (assuming some natural improvement of course!)...

We don't need another small. Jack Billings is not the answer. We need skilled, strong bodies, inside players and there are plenty of them. Look outside metro teams. Country teams are very strong this year. Our future success is on the back of recruiters getting it right outside top 20. We should get some good picks this year.chook23 wrote:Jack Billings...........Ben lennon
Look at Geelong, premierships based on picks 20-70, players who can win their own ball and play a bit. I hope the recruiters are spending a lot of time watching the Falcons and the Power as I have seen both these sides and many players who would be great picks 20-80. Metro teams have not impressed me.

Rubbish. Saad killed it last year and tackled well. This year opposition coaches are paying him more respect. Has only played like 20 afl games for christ sake! He will get better. Has been playing afl no where near as long as his counterparts. He is our long term Milne replacement.Jimmy O'Dea wrote:If we have Saad and Milera in the team going forward we are in big trouble. On Milera - if a new draftee kicked 6.4 for sandy, we'd be jumping out of our skin. Again, give him a chance, has also barely played 20 afl games.
What do you expect these two to be killing it in the afl from day 1? It's well known that small forwards are potentially the hardest position to play well in.
Agree, (Milera mainly) needs to work on defensive pressure. But this is easier to improve than goal kicking, evasive skills etc..

People I know who follow Eastern Rangers closely tell me that Boyd is a far brighter prospect than Jonathon Patton. They also suggest that the Draft talent pool this year is the best for a long time in terms of BOTH Quality & Quantity, with next year possibly being even better !!

Agreed, but I still think getting a Gorilla would be handy. We should make a play for Gumbleton as his opportunities will be limited at Essendon.Con Gorozidis wrote:We need a gun midfielder desperately. More than desperately.

No good recruiting an Essendon player, as once the drugs wear off, they will be puny weaklings.Moorabbin Man wrote:Agreed, but I still think getting a Gorilla would be handy.
