Re: Milne must NOT play against the Pies
Anybody who thinks that Milne is not a valuable contributor in this side really needs to reevaluate their own grasp on this game, so much so that maybe they should just give it away simply because they are not fair dinkum.
Any side would take Milne atm...any side. I'm starting to get the s***s with my fellow supporters , not because how fickle they are but how little football nous they have.
This thread is so silly yet is not out of place with some of the other garbage being tossed around SS. Milne will and MUST play against the Skunks. Just another Dumb thread.

Missing NZL is punishment enough for mine.
Bring him and Tez in for TDL and Lee (generally Scott drops who he subs)

Would like Lee to stay in... For structure
Milera back in for TDL
Siposs in for Saad
Steven/Montagna rotate through the otherSmall fwd position.
Murdoch sub, Saunders to start

Yes, because we are so good we can afford to omit the greatest small forward of his generation and one of the greatest of all time. Especially because Milera and Saad have been so brilliant. NOT!!! He started very slowly last season as well and went on to have a stellar year. Or is that too long ago for some of you to remember?
And as for his so-called "dog act," while I don't excuse what he did, you and I don't know what was said out there. He cops more abuse on the field and from behind the fence than anyone else in the game. Those are the real "dog acts" so since you hold him in such contempt, Saintspremiers, take your holier than thou crap and go and join the opposition supporters who treat a genuine champion with such callous disregard week in, week out. All the Milne knockers on this forum seem to show more respect to other St Kilda players that aren't fit to clean his boots. Wake up and listen to yourselves!
Carna Saints!!!

Hey chimp, did you see what he did?BringBackMadDog wrote:The OP is a disgrace. Please leave the bagging of players to opposition scum bags only. Milney deserves so much more from us than this. As for leaving him out, I think I read this same game after round 4 last year. Plus the other small forwards hav don stuff all anyway. At least Minle attracts quality opposition week in weak out which makes if easier on our other forwards.
I'm guessing not.
It was a low act. Had a player from another team done that we'd be calling for murder.
You are the disgrace.

Fireman and all those others, just in case you weren't aware Scotty said Milne may have to earn his place back in the side via the VFL.The Fireman wrote:Anybody who thinks that Milne is not a valuable contributor in this side really needs to reevaluate their own grasp on this game, so much so that maybe they should just give it away simply because they are not fair dinkum.

Ahh, a different angle, I like it.Scollop wrote:He's the Etihad specialist and there's some retribution from last year. If that doesn't motivate him or fire him up, then yes he is cooked. I reckon he'll play and hopefully he kicks a few. Hope the Kos plays too
Maybe Channel 7 will run promos for Friday night football with a flashback to Harry O's dropped mark where they paid a free against Milne. How would 7 look if Milne isn't named? Surely that's reason enough to bring him back in
TV station puts pressure on AFL/club for certain player to play.
Sounds silly/could happen!!!

Re: Milne must NOT play against the Pies
Milne started 2012 in similar fashion. I remember him saying that he really blew up in the first few rounds last year and didn't feel he had his legs right until about round 5. So, don't write him of yet. If he plays every game from hereon, he'll end up with 40 goals in what will be his last season.
I'd bring him straight back in for TDL, no hesitation.

It's a fitness thing. Same as last year. We were saying the SAME THING LAST YEAR... Milney's finished. Until he turned it on from about week 6.BigMart wrote:Sandringham to earn his spot back.
His efforts this year have been below par, needs to demonstrate his effort at Sandy.

Can't see how it would make him a liar, would simply be an incredibly poor coaching decision.saintspremiers wrote:Fireman and all those others, just in case you weren't aware Scotty said Milne may have to earn his place back in the side via the VFL.The Fireman wrote:Anybody who thinks that Milne is not a valuable contributor in this side really needs to reevaluate their own grasp on this game, so much so that maybe they should just give it away simply because they are not fair dinkum.

Re: Milne must NOT play against the Pies
Statistically he is well off 2012 for the start of the year
Re: Milne must NOT play against the Pies
I think its ridiculous that people are defending how he is going because he wasn't fit enough at the start of 2012 and came good. Surely that says he didn't work hard enough in pre-season to be in better nick at the start of 2013.

Re: Milne must NOT play against the Pies
I don't see the huge drama with playing out of form stars back in the 2's?
Collingwood seem to bring Jolly back through the VFL, Dale Thomas, Didak, Krakour... etc
Having credits is fine, but I reckon 3-4 really quiet games from anyone is enough to warrant a week back in the 2's... It's not the end of the world...

Dalsanto should be the one in the gun, I don't think he will get dropped but he is playing well below what he can. Milne does need to lift too though.

You already started a thread slamming Dal Santo, why keep it going? Why not discuss someone who played well?Cairnsman wrote:Dalsanto should be the one in the gun, I don't think he will get dropped but he is playing well below what he can. Milne does need to lift too though.
Notice you didn't make any positive contribution to the Riewoldt threads. Do you still think he's "... a cancer on the footy club..." Oh Great Oracle What a disgrace.
Dodged your posts for 2+ years, but couldn't resist here. Reckon you don't come across as genuine, sometimes.

Re: Milne must NOT play against the Pies
Dal's worst is still reasonable AFL standard Milne is truly embarrasing when out of form.
I will now get flamed for not worshipping Milne, Don't I know he averages better than 2 goals per game etc, etc
Not sure he is held in real high esteem by football people generally and or team mates and opponents!
Good on him for making a decent career for himself but not sure he has added as much to the side as his goal tally would indicate.
Our Leon Davis but without the one good season coming out of defence.
FLAME AWAY!

Re: Milne must NOT play against the Pies
Dal Santo still had 21 poss (9 cont) and 6 tackles, yet considered to have not played well. It's just that there is more expectation on him.
Milne's poor days are very ordinary, which tends to happen with small forwards sometimes.

Milnes a great but the longer term question is can we continue to carry small forward specialists who offer nothing in the midfield????

I think you are wrong about NDS his disposal and decision making this year has been way offMCG-Unit wrote:Dal Santo still had 21 poss (9 cont) and 6 tackles, yet considered to have not played well. It's just that there is more expectation on him.

just looking at disposals doesnt take into account the shanks hand balls to team mates in worse position, work rate
As for Milne it will be decided on team balance, if Milera comes back in after a good 2nds performance, then milne should probably miss this week

Re: Milne must NOT play against the Pies
The big problem this year is NDS is such an easy tag, that his direct opponents are running off him and becoming attacking players themselves. Milne is in poor form and shouldn't be gifted games.

Re: Milne must NOT play against the Pies
Yep, good call, it's a structure question. Fewer and fewer specialist small forwards in the comp, and Watters seems to be doing his best this year to prove that they should be extinct. Milne will lose form and go, if not this year then next at the latest. Massive question mark for Saad as he's the least good in the midfield - what sort of career will he have?Teflon wrote:Milnes a great but the longer term question is can we continue to carry small forward specialists who offer nothing in the midfield????

Milne should not play again. We need to look to the future.
