Agree with all the above reports. Very exciting crop of youngsters coming through. Spencer White......absolutely Buddy like today! No other way to describe him.

Think Spencer White will win the goal and mark of the day on ABC...he was one very happy guy after the game...

The Sandy players went behind closed doors and voted among themselves who they thought was the player of the day and Terry Milera gor the vote...

A very good team effort today..lots of standouts...after 1/2 time Sandy smashed them out of the centre and in the last 1/4 they were kicking goals out of their proverbial backside...everything Sandy did started to work and Werribee started making mistakes...their big weapon in Ben Warren had a quiet day and was going way upfield to get a kick

That's 2 floggings in 2 weeks for Werribee...and they were right up there in the pre season flag favourites so it was great to belt them on their home ground

SANDRINGHAM d WERRIBEE TIGERS: Sandringham recorded their first win of the season in emphatic fashion, kicking 10 goals to five in the second half to run out 64-point winners against the Werribee Tigers.

After a tight first half which saw just six points separate the two teams at half time, Sandringham took control of the clearances in the second half, going on a six goal unanswered run midway through the third term to set up their victory. A seven goal unanswered run to open the final term sealed the win for the visitors.

The run from half back was a key to the Zebras win, with the likes of Sam Dunnell (17 disposals) and Marcus Marigliani (24) setting up Terry Milera (6 goals), Cam Shenton (3) and Spencer White (3). White (pictured) impressed once again up forward for Sandringham kicking 3.4 for the day, taking eight marks with his 13 disposals.

Dan Currie worked hard in the ruck all day for Werribee up against Lewis Pierce, Jay Lever and Tom Hickey, but it was the Zebras talls that won out on the day despite not seeing Hamish Shepheard back out on the field after half time. Adam Maric and Ben Warren kicked three goals each for Werribee, while Tim McGennis, Scott Sherlock and Jordan Gysberts were named amongst their best.

My take on the Saints guys from watching on the telly. A game of two halves.

First half was an arm wrestle. Milera the best, followed by Ray and Curren who finds the ball. Honourable mentions to Shenton (has pace), Webster (moves and kicks a bit like Pendles), and Lever who was quite but for a tallish player made the right decisions and hit every target.

Second half was all Sandy. White…hardly seen in the first half but clearly BOG in the second. Not sure I saw any contested marks, but great pace, leading, and the passing straight to his chest was brilliant. The kid is seriously very similar to Buddy at the same age. Milera again not far behind, his reading of the play was five stars. Siposs was up there receiving the ball, just couldn’t get his kicking going today. Dunell popped up with a few touches but gave away two 50m. And again honourable mentions to Shenton (Black Caviar according to the commentators), Staley , Curren and Lever.

This is the first time I’ve seen most of these guys, pretty happy. Overall Milera BOG for his midfield and forward work. The forward line belonged to him, White and Shenton. Milera and Curren were good in the middle. Pierce didn’t necessarily win the hit outs but for a stick competed very well. Webster has one hell of a weapon, I’d like him to get more of the pill running outside the packs. Lever has something but I don’t know what to do with him. Staley looked like a competitor. Ferguson I think it was his first game back. Ledger kept going but didn’t hit a target all day. Hickey didn’t really impact as I’d like, but he’s still young. Minch was quiet but did well. Simpkin quiet but was only beaten once early, and gave away a free kick 150m off the ball. Plenty of effort from all. I’m happy.

My TAC cup mate said Spencer will frustrate all day at times then put the accelerator down for ten minutes and do more damage than any other player on the ground. Said if he can get 20 minutes up he could be superstar quality. Very good judge this guy and I take him seriously. He said he wished they got him down to the Tiges because he rated him just too exciting a proposition to pass up even at a first round pick.

I like Jimmy Webster coming good too- I have been waiting for him to do the business- I was literally harassed because my kid had his saints top by an old guy - he was passionately telling me that Jimmy will be the greatest player ever out of Tassie. He's come along way already he looked like a shy surfer bum when he arrived.

And always liked Milera and Shents -the SA mafia have come good for me.

White needs to be developed properly but has everything you need, just need him to get interested.
Very buddy like, if he makes it, happy days.
Webster is going to be good.
Mileara needs to get more involved in the seniors like that, he was bog for mine.
Curren cant kick, moves well, just too small.
Ledger won't make it for mine, just panics with the ball.
Like hickey, knows where to get to, very important.
Shenton is 50/50, can he do that at the next level?, he was god today, great pace and skill
Like dunnell, but I don't reckon he will make it at the next level, too small.
Minchington too small as well, goer though.
I like lever too.
Siposs needs to play half forward.
Simp kin was no good for mine.

Hooray, something to get excited about in 2013. Spencer White looks a future gun.

Just watched the game and on form you'd reckon Milera comes in. Looks a class above in the VFL.

You'd expect Siposs, Hickey and Ray to come under strong consideration also.

How far off senior footy do we think White is?

Minchington has plenty to offer, in my opinion. Attacks the ball hard, has a bit of pace and knows ho to kick a goal. Behind White, he seems to be the next untried player who has the tools to be an AFL player. By he way, he's no shorter than Montagna.

Hard to judge Webster's game as he seemed to get all his possessions out on his own. Needs to put on about 5kg before being thrown into senior level

I would be cautious with White. Still lightly built for his height and doesn't have the tank yet to play AFL. Leave him at VFL level this year and give him a handful of games in 2014. Remember, Franklin spent most of his first 18 months at VFL level.

Ledger is a disappointment in relation to his kicking and decision making and if these aspects don't improve significantly, then it's back to the WAFL in 2014

I've only glanced at the first half so far, but yeah, he was out there running around. Playing back but got forward far enough to have a wayward shot at goal in the second quarter.

Did nothing wrong, pressure was well down late in the game but distributed the ball when in his hands.

Watching the game again and now that I know who he is, I have undersold Minchington. Whenever he got the ball the commentators were crapping on about something else and didn't mention him. Quite the hard nut, very good skills. The kick from the pocket to White was a ripper.
And Curren's kicking is under rated. He hit plenty of targets, technique fine.
It's obvious that we've brought in guys that are talented and super competitive. Looking good.
