Why was Lee subbed off?
And who was the bright spark who thought kicking high balls to Saad and TDl would be the gateway to a winning score?
Frustrating because we had lots of the ball and didn't get rewards

Re: Why was Lee subbed off?
Must say see some odd decisions from the box - and make no mistake these , along with playing 4 smalls last week, are coaching decisions.
I thought Lee actually looked ok?
TDL is a joke - sorry from day 1 havent seen why we drafted him........Sydney mustve laughed their nuts off when we took him - give me Raph Clarke anyday. Everything he touched turned to shyte.

Re: Why was Lee subbed off?
Why is Saad flying for marks against Roo in the forward line? A small should be front and centre waiting for crumbs. Lee should have stayed on, but when your mids are kicking the ball to nowhere land, what chance any forward? Sorry Scotty you are not showing me much as a coach.
Re: Why was Lee subbed off?
Exactly and we wonder y saad isn't having an impact this year maybe it's because he not playing the same role

Hard to work out what the game plan is when Riewoldt is kicking out and we get the ball between half back and wing and have no one to kick to.

Defend everything to the death and disagree with every criticism no matter what.... That something different?!

Re: Why was Lee subbed off?
Our four smalls- Saad, Milne, Milera and TDL..little impact this season, and no defensive skills at all. Out of the lot Milera is slightly in front, except for his effort against the druggies last week where they obviously spiked his drink, so unless Schneider can come up soon, we are not going to get many big scores this season, unless we play GWS each week.

Its because smalls struggle when the side struggles.

Not sure of that.plugger66 wrote:spert wrote:Our four smalls- Saad, Milne, Milera and TDL..little impact this season, and no defensive skills at all. Side had enough opportunities up fwd tonight for sure and couldve snatched it in the last.
Do our smalls have the tall quality to assist them right now? No.
Do Carltons? No. But the defensive pressure when you dont have the ball from the likes of Yarran shytes on Saads/Milnes.
Lets not let people off the hook with cliches.

Re: Why was Lee subbed off?
But the more important reason was structural.... It allowed a tall to drop of

Firstly there smalls are better and secondly until they won last week they have struggled. Why have our only been good against the side we beat.

Re: Why was Lee subbed off?
Still not sure why we keep naming a third tall. We've got nothing out of the spot all year.
Lee looks alright, but right now the order is still pretty clearly Maister > Kosi > Lee. Not sure where Hickey fits in.

I reckon while Beau is out it should be Riewoldt CHF, Lee FF, Hickey FP/ruck.
Get a bit of structure back in there.

Re: Why was Lee subbed off?
Lee was crap. We had some great performances tonight but about 6-7 who did not contribute
Lee wasted his few opportunities
Jones was utterly terrible. Turned it straight over and let his opponent run free
Murdoch did very little
Armo didn't turn up
Dempster and Fisher were poor
Saad and TDL were insipid
Kosi isn't an AFL player anymore
Full credit to Roo, Lenny, Joey, Geary and a few others who played great footy though. Ross did some good things, Saunders got a bit of it in his brief time, Stanley continues to impress and Gilbert showed some good defensive skills.

Re: Why was Lee subbed off?
so Carltons smalls are just better and all only do well when we win?
so small fwds need do nothing if the rest of the team arent doing their job for them?
odd....I thought there was always room in the game for pressure - Carlton's smalls have been good in their losses this year???? so it doesnt quite fit the cliche..
our smalls when they arent hitting the scoreboard ought to be defending like mad. They dont. Thats not acceptable.

I thought CJ was good- nullified Mc Veigh and got plenty of ball?
