I don't think people need replacing....
I don't think we are playing well.... Or have good structure
Fwd structure is a concern.... Back match ups odd and unusual roles through the middle...

"Look, if you had three shots, three opportunities
To seize everything you ever wanted
Three moments
Would you capture it or just let it slip?
The clocks run out, times up, over, blaow!
Snap back to reality, oh there goes gravity
Oh, there goes BJ, he choked
So sad, but we won't give up that easy? No"

Re: Just need to come to grips with where we're at
It is about age but more importantly it is about transition. The Demons cleaned out the closet getting rid of their older and more experienced players and then appointed
their younger rising stars as Captain and Vice Captain. They fell on their face when the new leaders had no role models to offer advice, direction etc.
We are now in the same position. We need to retain our core of experienced players if they're willing to be involved in the process. If not trade them.

I once spent a year in Adelaide, I think it was on a Sunday.

We Can lose 5 veterans at the end of this year - and still start 2014 with an AFL high 7 veterans in 2014.linz wrote:It is about age but more importantly it is about transition. The Demons cleaned out the closet getting rid of their older and more experienced players and then appointed

We are pretty safe in not doing a Melbourne on that score.
The main problem with Melbourne is a shite culture and a belief they would improve just by using the draft in their favour.
Really since 1990 when the AFL started Melbourne have been a dead set disgrace to the competition. Yes I know we were bad in the 80s VFL. But really that doesnt count. Different rules. Different system. Different teams. Different comp.

There's usually a difference between what a coach says in public and what he thinks in private.BigMart wrote:Someone needs to let SW know then
Because the crap he sprouted this week suggests he isn't accepting of 'where were at'

Con;
Demons played off in a GF in 1988 and again in 2000. Unlike the Saints however, in 1997 and again most recently where we were close, they got absolutely thumped both times they made it to the last day
Coming so close and yet not being able to be competitive perhaps pushed the club to desperate measures to bridge that insurmountable gap.
As far as our club is concerned, we should learn from the Carlton experience and from Melbourne's woes that there are no short cuts

1990 = AFL - year Zero = new comp, new rules, new system, new teams.
