That the great Lenny Hayes won the Norm Smith Medal of the 2010 GF I, not Brendon Judas Goddard.

RUB HIS FERRET FACE INTO THE TURF TOMORROW, SAINTERS.

At the time I thought Goddard was unlucky, now I'm so pleased that a club legend got the Norm Smith medal

Honestly, I thought it was a dead heat between these guys, maybe Hayes was slightly better if anyone. Goddard was very good around the ground, whereas Hayes was in a league of his own. The Goddard mark and goal should have gone down in AFL legend as the best Grand Final victory goal ever, but let's not forget Lenny's kick from outside 50 - where he seemingly just willed it to go 10 metres further than he reasonably should have been able to kick it. My favourite two images from after that Grand Final were Goddards mark, and Lenny lifting his arm up with a look of pure determination to win just after he'd miraculously kicked that goal.

Goddard was unlucky for one reason - there was only one other player on the ground who came even close to playing as well as he did.

Sure, but only one of them remains a true Saint.

Has me amused regarding the defection of Goddard.

CEO's of Companies change hands continously for A. The challenge & B. money. It's been going on for decades.

Goddard has gone for either A or B or both.

Get used to it. More money in sport will see more of Goddard like departures.

Oh c'mon, don't be a buzzkill with this "business as usual" talk.

Goddard is now a bad guy. We cheer for the good guys and boo n' hiss the baddies. Or at least we used to... Jeez, it almost seems as though fans are becoming completely numb by the corporatisation of the AFL.

I respect him, and greatful for his time as a Saint. Reading the posts about their efforts in GF.1 brings back painful memories.

But he plays for Essendon now, so I will boo the s*** out of him, hope he has a tough night and we go 2-2.

he was over rated anyway....It was always all about Brendan, hence the constant finger pointing...

I do acknowledge he couldn't support his family on his Saints wage, legal bills are expensive..

All the same, I hope he has a good career but more importantly, I hope he has some coin left at the end of it....

Season 2024 is where RTB is showing the footy world his grasp of the modern game.

Goddard Is like a dog who you loved with all your heart since it was a puppy , you wormed it you de fleed it you walked it fed it bathed it hugged it groomed it ran thru the fields together ..then one day your neighbour started feeding it porterhouse steak and it never came home again. Not a very loyal dog.

And then that dog goes to live in another area, where all the other dogs eat bones filled with peptides.
