Re: will we make a statement this week
I think it will be very firey…
The bombers have been very good, we have been ordinary… but this our first match at the dome, where we play much better than any other ground.
The bombers have lost 2, maybe 3 top ten players… can't see us getting belted, think we are a good chance to win.

Fortious Quo Fidelious really means hope for the best, expect the worst. If you grew up in the late 70s to probably about 2004 you lived by this motto. Nothing changes this week. I enjoy a good win against the Bombers though. I remember all three of them.

Re: will we make a statement this week
Hope you are right Gusto. But I think that sounds like emotion talking.
The 'footy experts' have been right so far. We have gone from 6th to 9th to here....
Facts and stats say we are a bit off the pace and in mild decline. The Bookies have us at 2.85. Which gives us some hope. Says we can win it. So i have some hopes this week. But I expect to lose. History tells me we only win 1 in 4 against the Bummers. Especially now they have their new 'fat free' bodies.

Some of us are still filled with confidence. I just confirmed with the club this week that I will get a Grand Final ticket if we make it.Waltzing St Kilda wrote:Whenever I want to feel bad about my team's prospects, my first stop is now Saintsational.

Re: will we make a statement this week
Sooner or later the Essendon bubble is going to burst... Sometime in the next month you would reckon. Up until now they have played like men possessed. Hopefully it burst or deflated on the plane ride from Perth.

Re: will we make a statement this week
Reckon we might pinch this (and we would be stealing it). I think this weeks activities for the coach are the start of the real invasion on their club, everyone will be interviewed and it has now started. That sort of distraction derails clubs.

Re: will we make a statement this week
There would certainly be a few players who would love to make a statement.
Saints are back in familiar surrounds with plenty of good memories.
It can be done - wouldn't it be a massive shot in the arm for the entire club.

Re: will we make a statement this week
it is a danger game for Essendon. for them there may be distraction, complacency, reliance on info from Goddard. we have none of this and will be going in with our tails up. if we throw the kitchen sink at them from the first bounce I will be happy enough. would be surprised to get the win though.

Re: will we make a statement this week
The bombers have beaten an out of sorts Adelaide in a round one anything can happen game. Adelaide still out of sorts .
Thrashed hopeless Melbourne. Still being thrashed.
Got lucky against a one trick pony in Fremantle. Essondon can beat the Lyon gameplan.
They are under the pump psychologically , ready for a emotional slump , what goes up must come down.
We thrashed them last time , it's all about them not about us .....we will roll them , go saints

Re: will we make a statement this week
There are certain weeks where you just know we will win. This is one of them, I can't wait.
"...If there has been one recurring theme through this whole shocking mess, it has been the misguided, inflated egos and their ill-judged determination to cling to long-standing old boy friendships. The bad advice that has guided the selfish and culpable James Hird has not only punctuated this saga but symbolised it..."
Re: will we make a statement this week
Their outs are significant. hard tags on Goddard & Watson. Saints by 22 points.
I've never seen a bad St.Kilda player - that's just how they are.

Re: will we make a statement this week
Whats with all off the negative predictions?, Essendon arn't that great and neither are we, they always come out and win there first stretch of games and die in the ass imo will be no different this year, wasn't that long ago we flogged them by over 10 goals, anyway it will be closer than most people think.SaintPav wrote:5 to 7 goal loss.
