St K v Ess, Etihad -- ticketing
A footy-gang mate has just rung to say it looks like reserved and/or general admission tickets for the Essendon game (20 Apr) appear to be "limited"
Does anyone know what the ticketing arrangements are, and whether "limited" means there are only a few left, or just that it's about time to release another block of tickets for sale.
I imagine it's all fine, but I hate this recurring anxiety.
Any advice will be appreciated.

ticketek does and for round4 game directs me back to ticketmaster which rolls and does not open. ( 11.30pm _)

Re: St K v Ess, Etihad -- ticketing
Does anyone have any news, or advice, on whether we'd need to reserve seats on Saturday? (speaking as someone who normally just goes general admission with a bunch of friends)

there will be GA on level 3. it wont be a complete sellout

A lot if neutrals will go to Rich vs Coll at 2.10 at the G instead.saintdooley wrote:there will be GA on level 3. it wont be a complete sellout

Will be plenty of tickets as long as you get there no later than 4.40.

Re: St K v Ess, Etihad -- ticketing
Still remember the day way back in the Sheedy era @ ess. Saints kicked something like 16 or 14 goals to 2 pts (this is a bit sketcy - i didn't check the scores again sorry). Anyway Plugger won the game of his own boot - i think it was 10 + goals. Well Saints fans were ecstatic at the 'G'.
An middle-aged Essendon guy who should have known better couldn't stand the sight of me waving the Saints scarf and grabbed it . Pleased to say i didn't relinquish my grip and he eventually did - sanity prevailed.
It must have been something incomprehensible to this adult essendon fan - otherwise he would have just looked on maybe disgruntled but understanding the ecstasy in the scarf waving young Sainter and moved on.
GO SAINTS!

The boy can play and we can build a defence around him that will have respect.

Unfortunately Etihad don't do crowd estimates as the MCG does, which would help.SainterK wrote:So as it stands, as long as we're early?

I think you'll be fine no matter what time you show K, its our home game so i cant see it hitting more than 36,218...possibly 36,220SainterK wrote:So as it stands, as long as we're early?

Except that it is only Essendon's second game in Melbourne for the year, they will be out in numbers given the circumstances. There will be way more than 36k there.

The top is for walk up but I'd assume there are only a limited amount of GA tickets that they could sell.
They can't sell a million GA tickets. They also need to factor expected members walking up.

And then according a recent article in the Hun, Metro trains then blames the AFL because they underestimated the number of trains required to clear the crowd. Why Metro can't do their own estimation is beyond me.
But with crowds dropping as viewed on broadcast with gaps in the crowd it won't be a sell out.

Not sure crowds are really dropping for big games or games with interest. They are dropping overall because there are 2 games a week that gets bugger all crowds at the moment.

I reckon there will be about 44,000 there. Other twilight games that have been big get around that mark. If it was at 2pm we may have got more.
Your friendly neighbourhood samurai.

I think we have been banned from the 1.45 and 2.10 Saturday slot.samuraisaint wrote:I reckon there will be about 44,000 there. Other twilight games that have been big get around that mark. If it was at 2pm we may have got more.
We have I think 1 maybe 2 games in that slot but 8 twilighters.

If we get 44 at 440 I'd be very surprised. I'm banking on walking up.

SP what ever time our game is you complain. Why would 4.40 on a Saturday be a worry. I actually think it is a better time than 2 on a Saturday as you could go straight afterwards if you want and if you have kids they will be home by 9 on a saturay night. Surely that isnt to late even if they were onlt 2 or 3 years of age. Yet to see a kids life effected by missing some sleep sometimes.

I love the time of the game. I can make it by quarter time after my own footy
