Gringo how can you say that without hearing the evidence. That chip must weigh you down.

He was going to the bench and received a broken jaw, it sounds like the evidence was of unclear of varying accounts- Bakes apparently didn't need either for the same thing. We know a lot about what effect concussions are having- he may have memory loss and depression well into old age for a stupid aggressive act. If the AFL wanted a real issue to champion instead of a PC publicity act they should have acted.

The tribunal has no credibility any more. It's just an exercise in public relations gone wrong.

I've never seen a bad St.Kilda player - that's just how they are.

Yep they are picking on us gringo. It makes so much sense and of course the AFL want brogan to play. he is such a gun. They would risk telling the tribunal to let him off so that he plays. I take it you think the members of the tribunal are on the take?

And what do you mean the AFL should have acted. What are you talking about?

Ch 7 Vision shows newnes standing his ground or turning slightly tio impede Brogan- with Brogan running past- and newnes then reeling around after contact.
AFL Tribunal‏@AFLTribunal
Jury being asked to consider whether Brogan's contact or Newnes' decision to initiate contact was most likely to have caused injury.

Looks likely Brogan gets off if the last tweet is anything to go by

They are not picking on us I'm just showing that there is precedence with the tribunal using conflicting evidence and poor vision. It is crazy if it isn't seen as bad as Paddy Rider yet that was at least a split second decision while going hard at the ball. You are like most umpires in the AFL- no intuitive sense of the game.

If you had seen Greg Williams on Sunday night a few weeks ago and the effect that the Siracusa hit on Kosi has had on his career it is just sad and pathetic that you back a s*** administration over a kids welfare long into the future. He should be charged in a civil court IMO. If he got a serious assault charge players might think twice before these acts in the future.

If it was your daughter getting hit playing netball or what ever she plays - what would you think.

What are you on about. I have no intuitive for game. gringo it may surprise you but I dont have anything to do with the decisions. And I back an administration that you complain about for changing rules to stop head injuries. Gringo that is most emotive crap that has ever been written on here and that is saying something. I take it you wanted bakes to be banned for life? I take it you heard all the evidence. And if my Daughter got hit playing Netball i would be upset but if it was an accident I wouldnt do a think. if it was deliberate I would hope the tribunal would sort it out but again I wouldnt do a thing.

Just listening to SEN on the internet. Sounds like Jack decided to get in his way and give him some presence. Possibly the wrong bloke to pick, but doesn't excuse a head high bump. Will be interesting. Hope he's ok. Only a couple of weeks with a broken jaw is quick isn't it?

Update...Brogan guilty.....penalty being decided.

AFL Tribunal‏@AFLTribuna
Dean Brogan has been found guilty of negligent rough conduct for his bump on Newnes.
Negligent high contact- submissions for penalty
AFL Tribunal‏@AFLTribunal
Brogan's high bump was assessed as negligent, high contact and high impact. His sanction will be announced very soon.

I think it may be a bit more. Happy to say I was wrong if not. 2-3 weeks I reckon. Behind the play, high contact, knocked a bloke out and broke his jaw. Extra week for being a d**khead as well. I'll go with 3-4.

AFL Tribunal‏@AFLTribunal
Those charges usually result in 325 points, which would be 3 weeks. But there may be loading/deductions
.

had already been stated no early plea as it went straight to tribunal

Gringo, you wrote this I've quoted above.......and a few posts earlier in the thread you wrote this, "If it had been one of ours hitting someone like Cameron it would have been 30 weeks."

So which one is it? Are "they", whoever "they" are, picking on us or not.

"After the game, Lenny Hayes asked Brogan if he'd "hit one of our young blokes behind play". Brogan then apologised to Newnes after this."

see you next tuesday gutless wonder should be either in jail or a mental institution.

Absolute violent thug who should be made to retire from competitive AFL before he flattens another teenager behind play.

Incredible Baker gets 7 weeks for giving Farmer a blood nose, that nobody saw.

This neanderthal gets 3 for breakign a kids jaw.

Found guilty - charges should be made for violent assault.

Get this thug off the streets.

Sickening.

So every player who initiates contact deserves to have their jaw broken do they?

yeah good one

The guy is an out and out thug. A little bump happens a thousand times a game, but this criminal breaks a teenagers jaw, behind play and you defend him.
Shame on you

yes it shows newnes initiating contact but to my eye it also shows Brogan coming down after that contact which could indicate that he had raised his shoulder/ elbow to defend that contact.
