Essendon's close win should help us.
To come back from so far behind, means they had to dig deep.
I'm hoping it took a fair bit out of them. The 4 hour flight will hurt the recovery too, being cramped up, they aren't small men.
Our flight back is hopefully direct to Melbourne.
Hope the news about Hird galvanised them and they will be a bit flat & spent next week.

Where would our flight stop over between Canberra & Melbourne?WellardSaint wrote:To come back from so far behind, means they had to dig deep.

If there's no direct flight, they make you go via Sydney. That turns a one hour journey into three. It would be a real pain if that happened to us.dragit wrote:Where would our flight stop over between Canberra & Melbourne?WellardSaint wrote:To come back from so far behind, means they had to dig deep.

Hopefully they are flat because I'm afraid they will murder us.

Given the respective performances by both sides, even if we were playing off a seven day break and them off six; we were coming off a match at home and they were still interstate; even if Ryder goes and Hurley doesn't come up and even if we started now and they didnt start until three quarter time, I reckon we'd still lose by five to ten goals.
I'm a little nervous about next week.

Re: Essendon's close win should help us.
If they had played the Demons this weekend, next week would be a train wreck for us.
This is a good result for us, especially playing against GWS which will NOT be easy given our current form, but if the guys have any self-respect they must show discipline.
Heart they have, we believe. Just have to execute a whole lot better.

Re: Essendon's close win should help us.
Ryder is gone absolutely head high deliberate and was taken from the ground 3 weeks off. Although if an umpire misses a free it's like they pretend that an incident didn't happen.
hurley looked like he broke his wrist no upset his scar tissue. here was one other bump who I can't remember which player that will be scrutinised. The Dons are flying ATM and probably look like they are heading for a Premiership if the ASADA stuff doesn't happen and they stay injury free.

I've done an Adelaide stopover before. Makes no sense but it was a last minute booking and it was cheaper than the Sydney flight?White Winmar wrote:If there's no direct flight, they make you go via Sydney. Based on current form we cannot win next week, and even if we win by ten goals today it will feel a long way away. Can't help but hold out hope for a good performance though.

A quick look at Virgin flights and it looks possible that they will catch a 9.15 flight home tonight, landing at 10.25 !!stinger wrote:WellardSaint wrote: Our flight back is hopefully direct to Melbourne.

I hear Dugong sphincter is yet to be banned, we should try it on Kosi, just in case it increases speed and awareness.saintspremiers wrote:Agree.gringo wrote:Ryder is gone absolutely head high deliberate and was taken from the ground 3 weeks off.
