SW basically said Milne is no hope of being dropped.

I would suggest so.
Funny too, have not heard the "We all need to relax as we are not going to miss Goddard" lately...

…perhaps for another youngster to have a game, Wright or Murdoch?Spinner wrote:noob wrote:What about Siposs? would he be in danger of being dropped?

Although they would be keen to keep getting games into Arryn, that was a pretty forgettable performance on Friday.
Isn't Siposs the new improved BJ?

Re: Next Week
Not sure if serious. How could Gilbert be tipped out? He was one of their better players, in the top 6, and is just coming goodMoorabbin Man wrote:Only 1 change????
These changes should be made:
Out: Blake, Maister, Gilbert and Newnes
In: Kosi, Lee, Ray and Simpkin
With Schneider moving into the 21 and Milera Sub. They may also want to consider occasionally running Saad through the midfield.

Gilbert is coming good , need to play wing ,Kosi in for his marking power, small forwards really have no defensive pressure at all, must work alt more on that .GC loss was a shocker,we could have won against tigers.Blake,Maistr have to stay, they can play and have experience3rd generation saint wrote:Yeah, that was an awful kick from Gilbert from 50m+ that went between the big sticks early third quarter.
100 goals in 14 games...Lockett is the key

Re: Next Week
BJ in his first 42 games averaged 13 disposals. Siposs after 18 averages 11.4.
Lets not compare Siposs to BJ at the height of his powers.
Siposs is still learning, and has a way to go. The potential is very clearly there though.

Apparently the Kos was pretty ordinary today, I think there is no chance he will be back this week and unfortunately it is looking unlikely that he'll get to 200 at this rate.

Re: Next Week
That is good for 5 years time, but people were banging on here that Siposs was going to seamlessly take over BJ's sweeping role this year… which of course was a pretty fantastical concept.saintsRrising wrote:BJ in his first 42 games averaged 13 disposals. Siposs after 18 averages 11.4.

Where will Siposs play this week?, he played a very good game off HB against GWS last year… hopefully he gets another go and lifts this week.

Re: Next Week
I see Wright was mentioned in the best for Sandy today. He might come in for Dempster. If he does, I'd like to see him in the starting 18, definately NOT the substitute. A player's 1st AFL game is/should be a BIG occasion for him !!
NEW scarf signature (hopefully with correct spelling) will be here as soon as it arrives !!

No to TDL.
5 goals or not he had 9 disposals - goals and opportunistic ones don't tell the full story.

I would say thats a pretty good return unless he was played away from goal at times. If he was running on the ball the possessions matter otherwise it's a good day out.
saad would be worried.
Simpkin has to come in for Dempster as we need to sure up the defence with Cameron and Patton.
Siposs should get another game but would be worth maybe giving him a sub role. Would love Webster to come in and be the new new Goddard- similar height and good kick lets all pin unrealistic hopes on him.

Re: Next Week
If Lee is any good, then surely this would be a good week to give him a game?
Third tall forward against a team of mainly 2nd year players?
When is he going to play this year if it isn't against teams like GWS, he just might kick a few goals and take a massive confidence shot…
Regardless of who is and isn't playing well, we have too many small forwards in the side. Give Stanley Patton, play Lee as an extra marking forward that we are missing.
OUT Dempster, Blake, Milne/Saad (you choose)
IN Simpkin, Lee, Wright

Re: Next Week
I actually like those suggestions- Lee is a 6'4" milne not a Rooey. Patton is a massive unit so Stanley might be our only option. Sam Fisher would need a step ladder. Milne gets another week over Saad for mine.dragit wrote:If Lee is any good, then surely this would be a good week to give him a game?

Re: Next Week
Wright in Sandy's bests....Should be rewarded. Lee got a bit of the footy, a chance as well.
Not sure about TDL....I hated the trade in the beginning. He looks like a very good VFL player with limited attributes for an AFL career. May come in though on the back of 5 goals.

Re: Next Week
Gee I'd be surprised, no p1ssed off if Sippo gets dropped this week. Hopefully we don't have a coach that drops young and inexperienced players after one bad game. What would be the point of that. Let's see. Blake might be safe too with Dempster being injured unless Simkin comes in.
