kosi and Blake. Club legends. Time to hang up the boots
Kosi and Blake should hang them up unless they want to play at sandy which I doubt.
We are rebuilding. Lets get on with it.

We haven't even seen Kosi play this year.
If he comes back in and kicks 5 then everyone will be calling for Watters head for persevering with Beau Maister instead of playing Kosi.

Re: kosi and Blake. Club legends. Time to hang up the boots
why should they not provide solid mature bodies and experience from which others can learn - whether that be at Saints or Sandy..
no need to be 2 players short for the year.

Very true Saintbrat. I'm glad the coach doesn't share Cons view otherwise he'd be a fruiterer.saintbrat wrote:why should they not provide solid mature bodies and experience from which others can learn - whether that be at Saints or Sandy..

With St Kilda's history, anyone playing 200 games is a legend.

Exactly, it's not about whether they want to play at Sandy or not, they are well paid professionals and should stay fit at Sandy if they are not picked for the Saints… both will provide massive leadership and knowledge to the up & comers.saintbrat wrote:why should they not provide solid mature bodies and experience from which others can learn - whether that be at Saints or Sandy..

Besides drinking games at the pub. What can players learn from kosi ?saintbrat wrote:why should they not provide solid mature bodies and experience from which others can learn - whether that be at Saints or Sandy..

And this argument has been.used the last 2 years and hasn't helped us progress.
Every game they play is keeping a developing player out.
How Blake can play ahead of simpkin beggars belief. And if Lee isn't better than kosi why in heavens name did we use pick 12 on him.

Im with Con
These 2 are back up only now BEHIND Simpkin/Lee for mine.
Who cares if we win a game or 2 more with them....its future time folks so lets not delay now....the longer we keep playing sentimental favourites the longer the pain to come.

I agree that they should be back up, just not that we should retire them off… we actually needed Blake last week… If Mac & Hickey get injured, we'll probably need KosiTeflon wrote:Im with Con

Re: kosi and Blake. Club legends. Time to hang up the boots
Con I would go back and listen to or read (on offical Saints site) that interview Jason Blake gave earlier this year. From what I can recollect he is under no illusions of why he has been given an extra year essentially as a back up player, to assist the team and younger players, be it with Sandy or in the Seniors. It would be ridiculous for them, Blake especially to give up after 2 matches............. as you can see with our already under-done backline, injuries can happen anytime eg., Dempster. He'll continue to get a game if and when required IMHO, depending on who we are playing and who is availablle. It will be interesting to see when Simpkin & Gwilt & Dempster are all fit and ready to play in same side, if Blake gets a run then...............maybe not.Con Gorozidis wrote:Kosi and Blake should hang them up unless they want to play at sandy which I doubt.

We all know Blakey is on the end of his career, but he wasn't an orphan in not being crash hot in the backline yesterday. He didn't have much support from other backs leaving him one out at times. That is a thing one could never be critical of with JB he always tries to help out other backs, by filling a hole infront of a leading forwards etc.

Fingers crossed that kosi can play two hundred for us. Got to earn itthough - five games looks a large river to cross at the moment.

Agreed Con.
Watters stated on SEN the same topic, but he needs to stand by his words and put the line through the the likes of Kosi and Blake. Not the future.

Re: kosi and Blake. Club legends. Time to hang up the boots
The kids shouldn't play unless they've earned their spot over the other guys on the list. A sense of entitlement doesn't do good things for young players. Newnes and Siposs shouldn't be autmatic for next week after their performances.Con Gorozidis wrote:Every game they play is keeping a developing player out.
Once we're completely out of it, I have no problem putting a line through guys on the list who won't be back next year. Otherwise, fit players are available.

Will we pick up a player in the SSP window
Re: kosi and Blake. Club legends. Time to hang up the boots
Fair career for a dud?
200 games, 240 goals, finals football, Brownlow votes
A dud I wish I was?!

Strange idea?
Unless they do something wrong why would the want to lose their job?

Indeed Con. They are both Club legends and should be treated as such, especially around here and hopefully (in JK's case) by Watter's.
