No it's a bounce, you can't play on without kicking the ball to yourself. Absolute brain fade by the Blake

Re: What was Blake thinking
For mine he wasn't thinking at all - and it was clear evidence that his mind wasn't completely on the job. I just don't reckon Blakey has attacked the contest nearly as hard this year. Some of his body work in packs while flying for marks looks timid by AFL standards.plugger66 wrote:Trixilver wrote:It wasn't a free, it was a bounce.

Was very frustrating because if he had kicked it, we were away and had the spare players on the fat side of the ground.

Re: What was Blake thinking
I reckon he thought that he marked the ball inside the line and simply played on, then handballed to a team-mate. Yes, he got it horribly WRONG !!plugger66 wrote:Handballing out from FB. By the way are we definitely sure its a free or should have he been made to take his kick.
NEW scarf signature (hopefully with correct spelling) will be here as soon as it arrives !!

Re: What was Blake thinking
Far out cut the guy some slack , he made a blue, he does not usually do the kicking in, so he made a mistake big farking deal, this guy has and does and always will bleed RED WHITE AND BLACK for his team mates and us supporters. He has been a fantastic servant for our club. Have you ever heard him whinge or whine, has he ever been in trouble out of the club ? NO so i take my hat off to Jason Blake and say thanks for all the heart and soul that you have given and shown to the StKilda Football Club

Re: What was Blake thinking
I hadn't even thought of that. Blake probably deserved the penalty on stupidity alone. I don't buy that he thought he marked it. That said, I can't see the difference rules wise between what he did and throwing it to Dal to take the kick-in, other than intent. I hate asking umpires to judge intent. It probably won't come up again any time soon though.plugger66 wrote:... should have he been made to take his kick.

Blake could have said he was hand balling to his teammate to kick it out ?

Have the rules changed?
I recall a whilevago, someone playing on without kicking to himself,
maggot blew whistle, bounced the ball on point of the square.

Re: What was Blake thinking
like me i make mistakes in my line of work and i bet each one of you do to ..........get over it every player makes mistakes and everyone one of those helps the other team get a score or a chance of one.

That is right but he would have run outside the square without kicking it to himself. Balke handballed it before he ran outside the square.

Re: What was Blake thinking
What was he thinking? Well, obviously not much.
What I don't understand is that he is a player who has played over 200 games and played in 3 grand finals. Go figure...
