My pet HATE : cost us another win

My pet hate is StKilda players kicking to where a StKilda player is, rather than kicking it so his team mate has to run onto it.

When you kick to a player so that he has to just wait stationary for the ball, invariably the opposition will run in and mark or easily punch it away.

We did this so many times tonight that it in itself could have easily cost us tee game.

Can we please learn to kick so that the team mate has to keep running to mark.

FFS when I played C Grade Amateurs and did those kicks in training during circle work, coach made me do 10 push-ups as punishment!

It's very frustrating to watch, when you know exactly what the player should do, but they can't/don't do so. Sometimes I think it's due to lake of penetration in the kick, but other times it's just poor judgement.

That's the problem. Some players have been doing it for years, like Leigh Montagna. He runs to the boundary, stops, then puts his hands out calling for it and then looks disgusted when they don't kick the ball to him. We are disgusted when they do.

Maybe the players want to kick to space but they can't kick.
